MIDI Controllable Audio Switcher

Post by dawman »

Well there are several audio switches that have MIDI I/O's on them.
I have tried all of them and can't understand if it's an XITE-1 issue or just that developers felt that since this is a virtual platform, using a mouse was easier than actually incorporating MIDI.
But I did actually find a SpaceF 8 x 1 Switch that is well suited for realtime/live use.
When not using my B2003 I really like the option of having the Leslie to use on my synths and various ASIO sends. I also like the choice of the B2003 Scanner Vibrato, Phaser or a Chorus effect.
I am not really asking for that much, especially since Scope is a routing application in nature, and one hardware can only wish to achieve.
But I found an ancient SpaceF switch that misleadingly is named 8 x 1, when actually it's 16 x 2 with gain and panning. I am afraid this device is overlooked, and it looks like Mehdi made this a while back.
This device responds to MIDI like most SpaceF devices. It's perfect.
I tried Wolfs and MCCY's various switches and had no luck controlling via MIDI.
It might be an XITE-1 issue.
But this switcher responds to program change messages and MIDI CC's perfectly.
I can assign a knob to the knob so that a slight twist can change back and forth to output choices in realtime and glitch free.
So don't be frustrated by the lack of MIDI control on other audio switches just in case you hate using a QWERTY/mouse as much as I do.

Well using a little more deeper concentration revealed an even more elegant solution.
The SpaceF mixers all have those great record out options in the drop down menu.
This pretty much means I can store my routings as a preset, and use MIDI Program Change messages to send whatever signal(s) to the Leslie emulation that I need.
Ankyu.......

This is brilliant...
A year ago I would be whining and begging for a downloadable patch, but I can easily see the connection and will try this tonight.
