Transferring Dynatube and Dynatube Bass from Scope v4.5 to 5

Post by Jonathan T »

This is how I got Dynatube and Dynatube bass to work in Scope 5.

Assuming you still have your old (4.5) installation available:

1. Check Settings\Module registry in your new Scope 5: All the Dynatube models you own should be listed there

2. Create Dynatube.dev and Dynatubebass.dev where you want them in your new Scope directory. In my case Scope 5\Devices\Plug-Ins. I started by moving all the Dynatube files from my 4.5 Plug-Ins subdirectory including DynatubeBass_NoKeys.oxe, DynatubeBassRack.dev, DynatubeBassRack.mdl etc. but the two .dev files were all I needed to leave there.

3. Copy the following files from old to new location:
For the long lists, do a sort in date order on the old subfolders to find them.

stdt05.dsp and stdt06.dsp to App\dsp
STGuitarRack.pep to App\Script

For Dynatube (all four models):
AC3044.mdl, through JCM and MESA to TWIN48C.mdl inclusive to App\Application
dr41.dsp to vx8b.dsp inclusive to App\dsp

Dynatube.pre to Presets (if you keep it there)

For Dynatube Bass (both models):
AG44.mdl to SW48C.mdl inclusive to App\Application
sw8b.dsp to v48b.dsp inclusive to App\dsp
DynatubeBass.pre to Presets

Hope this helps. I'm no expert but this is what worked for me.

If you do a windows search specifying the date you did the Dynatube installs it should help you locate them all, in case I have missed any.

Big thanks to this forum for pointing me in the right direction to begin with.

Best Regards

Jonathan

The only things i can't get working are the Bass Rack and Vinco DT. Anyone got Vinco DT working?

vinco DT doesnt work on my PC, also. it gives a registration error even after it says "import succed" on the keyfile.

DT Bass Rack seems OK here.

No go for Vinco DT here as well.

I've never used the Bass Rack - what does it do?

bass rack should provide the guitar cabinets for the bass amps

vinco DT is a stripped down version of vinco with only two knobs (in - out). i suppose it was tailored to guitar needs.

It's weird that there never was any official documentation about Vinco DT. But I assume you're right, Bosone. :)

yep, a stripped down version it is. it has fixed attack/release/comp ratio. but it was not built on the vinco, garyb once said in another thread a while ago...

All modules of Dynatube do not conduct a sound for me
To do something yet?

Do your presets load and the knobs move as you load them? That's where I got to to start with.

Can you see a signal at the input side, presumably there isn't one at the output?

you have to copy all the indicated files in the appropriate directory. the directory for v5 has the same name as v4.5
at the beginning i had the same problem

regarding vinco DT, i forwarded the request string for V5 to S|C and they said they will provide it.

I had this before copying the .mdl files to Applications I think - I assume you have already done this but it sounds like it maybe isn't finding these on your setup.

Not sure what to suggest next at the moment.

I am sorry
I did not know before about existence of .mdl in Applications
And did not attach a significance!
All works now
Thanks

We will wait returning of Vinco DT from S|C :D

Anybody managed to have this working with XITE?
I followed all the steps, but as soon as I load a dynatube device, all the inputs and outputs become like "frozen" (no sound comes in or or out of Scope.. I mean, even if I have a synth on another channel of the mixer, the synth produces no sound). If I remove the device, then all works normally again...
