my new studio pc

Post by arted »

my first post here is a big thank you.

i was advised to get the asus p5k for a soniccore/scope fusion set up.

after finding more post about problems with that setup,
i decided to jump the wagon and try it with the new intel board as some users posted that the asus dp35dp works perfect

so here my specs...

i call it my 'männerlaptop'

build in a 19" servercase i can fit it in a roadcase :)
it uses a 3-slot hotswap SATA changer with one slot still empty

and its power supply which is a 850W targan.

currently i experience none of all the troubles before
with installation and set up

HI gustav,i always GET too late to reply your post directed at me,sorry for many time.
The asus p5 wd2-e premium is very tough mobo but once it;s installed good it rock very high to none,
your answer is yes...
STS are the only samplers iam using.if you have not succeseded yet ??? that's seems too long till now.
please try the below installations setting, other than that there might be problems with your mobo.pls pay attention on the (ACPI support) (ACPI\APIC) ( PnP set )

1 Reset bios to default.
2 ACPI support..yes
3 ACPI\APIC.... enable
4 PnP set to yes.
5 save bios to new settings, reboot,
6 when windows start load drivers, press & hold F5.choose either
multiprocessor Or standard pc,any of these setting must work if not try
the other.press enter to your selected choice, windows will continue
loading restart within 30 seconds, enter in the bios again, this time very
important:
7 ACPI support..yes
8 ACPI\APIC.... disable
9 PnP set to no.
save bios to new settings, reboot, continue windows installation,
much success.

hey - its nice to hear from you - but for this mb its toolate for me
I changed for a new setup with intel mb dp35dp
I had some issues in the beginning ( http://forums.planetz.com/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=26804 )
there are some strange things happening sometimes but I had no time to have a closer look at that.
Bye - Gustav

This usually gives a good hint about the overall PCI performance of the system
