I recently was forced to do a chessy gig where there was an ancient EMU Turbo hardware sampler for use so I brought my collection of FDD's and they sounded so bad to me anymore, but it was for a silly effect and worked.
But this led me to a nice site that has many really well recorde wav.'s that that I up converted to 24 bit in GS4 to make custom keyswitched instruments.
The Dudek loops came out really well, and the SFX Nature stuff is very good too.

I use it like this.
For a 4 zone controller, SE-1x analog synth, ARP String w/ SSB Phaser, Melotron, and Dudek loops tuned to particular pitch.
Synth carried the low end, strings brought in and out to add more and less volume by combining the two, and on 16 differnt notes I could trigger these lovely recordings for a great intro w/ several variations.
I am sure STS can do this well.
The Wind Chimes are also exceptional when they convert up and get treated w/ an Exciter.
I love high quality free stuff.

Thanks Brosky.
I'll probaly use something similar for FX like seagulls, birds, fake applause for slow Tuesday and Wednesdays, etc.
