Randomizing synth and effect patches

Post by motormind »

Hi there,

Is there a way to randomize the patches for a synth or an effect? I like to experiment like that, but I didn't notice any option for it.

Thanks in advance...

Well, I prefer to use random settings and simply record stuff in real time while I'm at it. With VST's it's fairly simple... I often use EnergyXT and Bidule for that. I wished Scope had something like that too.

I do it w/ a hardware sequencer on the effects using the six insert effects on Mehdi's FB5 by having the bypass buttons muted and unmuted, but not w/ presets on a synth.

You can however change filters in the insert rack of Prowave for a real nice affect though. different LP, BP, and HP's morph nicely, better than just sweeping w/ an LFO.

It is sick, but sometimes it comes off as a wacked out sample and hold style of effect.
