Hi
I would like to to get some more accurate results reg that Notoriuos issue,
A benchmark soft, something like Sandra or 3D mark...
I know the Masterverb tests.
Anything that tests the pci bandwidth/throughput specificaly?

Sure, if you have a PCI IDE card that does RAID you can push your PCI/test your disk's throughput (with VIA always giving you less PCI) for your RAID array.

Although that test doesn't really equate directly to more performance for Creamware DSP audio, but it can be done to show the difference anyway.

Get an Intel chipset then you will no longer care. :smile:

What Intel chipset is recommended by the "experienced" people of the forum?

For P3, i815 chipset (i815E or i815EP too).

For P4, i850+RDRAM or i845+DDR (haven't tested DDR but i845+SDRAM worked fine, just lacked good memory bandwidht to feed the CPU).

Don't worry - it's pretty much undisputed common knowledge here that these are the chipsets that work best. :smile:
