Hi,
I am having some trouble with my 3 scopes. One is an SRB.
How many STDM cables should I be using?
When I use one, I can't max out the polyphony on synths and there's only so many I can load before it starts making a weird noise.
When I used 2 cables, I completely lost all synth output. May be a bad cable. I have enough connectors to make 5 cables, if required.
Thanks for your help,
-Tom
Having some issues with 3 cards to work properly
Re: Having some issues with 3 cards to work properly
there's no correct answer.
it depends on a number of factors including exactly what devices you use and in what order they are loaded. just try it and see.

Well, the problem is that with more than one cable, I get a horrible digital noise. I've tried up to 5 cables. I am gonna try shuffling the cards around on the motherboard.garyb wrote:there's no correct answer.

Still getting bad digital clicks, several per second, with all 5 cables installed.tlaskows wrote:Well, the problem is that with more than one cable, I get a horrible digital noise. i don't think that s/tdm cables cause this....but if 5 cables don't work, they don't work.
i suspect there's something else involved. have you cleaned contacts? are you certain you are connecting cards properly?

Yeah, I followed that article to make my cables.garyb wrote:i don't think that s/tdm cables cause this....but if 5 cables don't work, they don't work.

It worked fine with just a Pulsar II and 2 Scopes. Changing the Pulsar II to an SRB complicated things.

Re: Having some issues with 3 cards to work properly
maybe it's the srb itself...
Re: Having some issues with 3 cards to work properly
Could be. I'm gonna clean the contacts on it. I almost got it to work by switching cards around again...garyb wrote:maybe it's the srb itself...

Re: Having some issues with 3 cards to work properly
Looks like there's a problem with the SRB. I am only running 2 cards now and they're working fine (5 connectors). Got two 16 poly Profits 5 loaded and works like a charm. I am gonna be returning the SRB.tlaskows wrote:Could be. I'm gonna clean the contacts on it. I almost got it to work by switching cards around again...garyb wrote:maybe it's the srb itself...

Yeap, just confirmed it by running just 1 other card and an SRB. Same noises happens. I'm sending it back. The seller is cool with that. I just have to cover the shipping.garyb wrote:too bad.
