Re: H81 gigabyte with 5 pci
If anything it would be even better than other chipsets with lots of extra
functionalities most never use for audio.
I think that's a great score.
Especially if you can use 3 x Scope and older UAD/ToPo cards that are selling
for peanuts these days.

Are you sure the software for these old PCI cards, especially PowerCore (PoCo), is or will be updated to run w/ latest operating systems ?dawman wrote: Especially if you can use 3 x Scope and older UAD/ToPo cards that are selling

Notice to UAD-1 Users
As of December 31, 2013, we will be shutting down the UAD-1 registration / authorization servers and related UAD-1 card transfer functions. We will also be discontinuing the sale of UAD-1 plug-ins in our online store.

Future development of the PowerCore platform has ceased
The PowerCore drivers support 64-bit operating systems, but note that all plug-ins are 32-bit.

Both will work w/ up to Win 7 but Win 8 is no-go.
I think, latest chipsets/ mobos as well as usable processors prefer latest OS.
Win 7 is o.k. for the time being,- but ...
