Remember BeOS

In 2000 I had a PC with two PIII processors in it so I was very interested in BeOS. There was even a driver for my Echo Gina soundcard. To bad it was never supported by the big DAW guys.

Too bad big DAW guys don't make their own OS, or at least do what merging technologies has done by bypassing the Windows gunk, and stealing a single core from a multi core processor.
Their mixing/DAW Pyramix is a really nice sounding fast loading app. that uses nifty plug ins of high quality.
Not a real popular app though compared to the iLok/M$ crowd.

I ran BeOS a couple of times, and loved the fact that it not only booted in 20 seconds, but was running without more background loading still going on. (WAY before SSD, and other impediments).

*sigh*.

I would like to see a DAW replace the OS. On a pro-sumer level. just to let the consumers feel better about their purchase.
