RD modules an other effects

Post by jksuperstar »

Since John Bowen's RD modules are in the effects dir, can other effects be place in his synths?

I'm thinking of an audio input running with a the GOST Harmonic for a "filter".

I hate when the studio is down....

[edit - spell correct messed a few things up. Also, my studio is being reconstructed, which is why it is down, but that's usually when I get random ideas that would take 2 seconds to see if they're worth while.]

That's bad news. Luck 4 me, I hadn't time to pace them in those folders.
Is simply remove them from those folders an option?

Well the effects definitely load and work in the RD slot, didn't try all of them though. Some are not going to respond properly though, like if you load a reverb into a filter slot, so obvious stuff like that. I don't know if there are any negative side effects of using this slot for other than it's intended use though. It appears that if you do this it seems to basically renders the area of the synth to an insert effects slot bypassing all the other functions of that part of the synth. I know a lot of the Zarg synths have an insert effects slot anyway so maybe that is the better route to choose.

the rd modules uses some inputs for audio and some for modulation, so are not suitable for standard insert effects to work in the right way.

You can use the effects slots of Prowave, Solaris, and QWave, etc.
Also SpaceFs stuff works great too.
In Modular SpaceF's Filter slot is really useful and can recall all configurations, like when you want Filters swapped out. The Presets maintain all MIDI assignments, and even the Filters inside of the slot manage to keep automations.
