Hi,
I would like to re-born (left more than 5 years in cartoon box with various garbage:) my old Pulsar I and use it as standalone effect unit for keyboard / play its great synths via MIDI on stage.
I am thinking about small and cheap passive computer without any mechanical parts and no fans.
- for example miniITX, old Pentium, 2GB RAM, 4-8GB SSD, winXP etc.... no mouse, no keyboard, no monitor. Just a small box with audio/MIDI in / out.
Did you try anything like that? I need as fast as possible boot time ideally with some lcd status. All maintenance and projects could be setup via remote desktop or presets changes via MIDI controller.
Thanks for hints
Peter

Re: Pulsar I as standalone effect / synth unit for live usag
I have a few Stage rigs and if you are interested in small form factors, the Ivy Bridge HD4000 GFX are fine and the i7 3770S is what I use for 1U ATX w/ the XITE-1.
Antiher DAW has 2 x Pro cards, another has 2 x projects and all are realtime stage ready.
Stability is 100% for 10 years now....

do NOT buy anything with a socket 1155 motherboard/processor or newer. the P1 will not be happy if you do.
