Hi Folks ,
I've recently put together a "new" system .
Consists of 3 x Scope 15dsp cards Scope 4.5 in an ASUS P5P800SE mob w Intel 3.2Ghz dual core ,
3.5Gb ram and running Win XP SP2
It's all working beautifully , I've just finished an album mixing project , but for this problem: .. If I plug in
a USB drive ,,external or thumb drive , to transfer files the transfer will run for a while then it freezes .
I have to re-boot .
I thought of checking the USB2 drivers in System Device Manager to see if there are any warnings but
it says all drivers are ok . Maybe reinstall USB drivers from the the mobo cdrom? but it's showing as not
needed , plus apparently SP2 installs these anyway ...
So at this point I can't do big file transfers in or out at all !
Any ideas on what could be wrong here ? and thank you in advance , help will be much appreciated
Michael
Using USB makes system freeze !
Re: Using USB makes system freeze !
Its because scope and the usb controler share resources.Quit scope before pluggin in usb always helped at my rig.Or use a different usb socket.
Re: Using USB makes system freeze !
or just setup your computer correctly. whatever usb port is sharing an irq with the Scope card needs to be disabled in the device manager.

You mean cut usb controllers to make scope funktion without assimilating basic pc operations? Yeah. Also that.
Re: Using USB makes system freeze !
no one needs all the usb controllers that are running in modern machines. the loss of one or two won't matter.
look, Scope is realtime. it can't wait for the next cpu cyclke just because a usb controller wants to check for connected hardware at that moment.
