Hi
I was hoping someone might have some input on this
http://www.esis.com.au/Adv2Cases/2Urackcasedetails.htm
http://www.esis.com.au/Adv2Cases/IPC-603MB_inside.jpg
or this
http://www.istarusa.com/rackmount_chass ... -m2sa.aspx
as a live rig to hold two scope projects.
I remember hearing they are 7inches long. Is that right?
The 1st one is favourable to fit in a skb shockmount rackcase.
Cheers
Ben

Nice cases.
3U might get you more of a standard install...

I ended up buying this
http://www.digicor.com.au/products/prod ... e=660&qc=0
purely because its available in my city. I would have liked to buy the istar case but freight was to expensive. It more than doubled the price.
Because the new cases depth of 17" I had to buy a new rack case from skb
http://www.skbcases.com/music/products/ ... c=116&s=80
which seems a LOT better than my Gator and is 20" deep as opposed to gator 17" deep.
with this riser card
http://store.chassisoutlet.com/2u2x32pcion2.html
I'm hoping since there is no bridging or nesting in this riser, and it has a firm seat in a pci-e x16 slot, it will be fine for 2 scope projects and a slim passive cooled video card.
Any comments?
BTW I really need the extra rack provided by making it a 2u. And I wanted to keep my case from going to a 6u for air travel reasons.
Has anyone ever managed to carry such a case as hand luggage?
Cheers

Re: Rackmount case for Scope projects
Anyone has tried 4u rack ? i can afford 150€ approx. for case without power supply.
But in most case, i can't tell if a pulsar 15 DSP can fit inside...
Any ideas ?

Re: Rackmount case for Scope projects
They come in different depths. I'm running a 4U which it is too deep for my limited space (I only have 3 and 6 DSP) but would fit a 15DSP easily.
I have another case with less depth earmarked for my next mobo/cpu.
For 1,2 and 3U theres ideas here :

4U chassis are good, if you were stateside I have an extra w/ 650 watt Corsiar you could have for 100 bucks. including the 4 in 4 SATA RAid cage.
I forgot how many builds I have now and need to move them.
I am going for an Orchestral 1U rig using 2 x Supermicro MINI ITX mobos, 15" deep using 32GBs of RAM, 16GB on each as the load time os snappy especially with NCW lossless audio.
Scope cards, even pros fit all 18.1-20" 4U ATC Chassis, but the board design is what you nned to check. Make sure the SATA connectors are level with the mobo, the 90 degree angle ones will get in the way.

I think i gonna buy one of this cheap rack but there is some kind of lack of good pictures or information .... FANTEC NNC-4800C seems great and cheap (90€ only) or for extra 60€ the IPC 4098 (150€) wich seems to have the same features ... i'm quite lost ...

Re: Rackmount case for Scope projects
sure, that will work, but you'll certainly need to remove the cd/hrad drive mounts on the card's side.
