Valance (shape 2)

Post by Shroomz~> »

Very quick remix of Valance. Very similar sound and also a sort of minimal live jam, but completely different vibe to this. You'll hear some live shuffling/sequencing boo boos, but they kinda add to the character. :D

This is a really nice track. For me the track starts at 5:15. The block /rim loop seems to move around and change until that point. I like when you break the track down. That block/rim loop gets more simplified and feels like it just locks in perfectly with the kick, and then when the high hat kicks in…. whoah shit, that’s just what house music is all about. I would prefer if that block/rim percussion loop just stayed that way the entire track and have more of the synths that appear at the end. With that said I REALLY like it the way it is.

yes, the sounds are superb (filter(synrh = JD800?), but the arrangement could use something.
ah well, it's improvised :-)

53E7, I completely agree mate! If I were to sequence it out properly, I'd do as you say because I feel the same, but got carried away with the live pattern and loop size shifting.

Btw the block/rim is actually a pitched down hi hat with the start point shifted/removed in Live. Deceptive sound. I like these fake sounds. I like using metalic hats to make snares too. :)

hubird, the main synth bass is from C4T. It hits both on and off the kick drum, which is from Adern's Kick me. The poly synth sound which comes in later in the track is just a tweeked patch on Live's Operator synth.

Thanks Ken. It's been more about getting a certain vibe and sound than producing finished work obviously, but it's been interesting and fun too! :)

great stuff! Looking forward to the release. I really liked the bsr001 track.
This is the techno I like, much like SpeedyJ's Loudboxer album.

thanks!
