I have provided a new version to download.
In this version, man can regulate the noise and leave with DSP-save.
Under the same link two devices are now available.

That's it ! I'm trying it.
Since long time I tried to improve stereo field wideness on some particular sound such as pad or to fade between mono to stereo reverb. This device is perfect for this.

And in the master chain, it can improve the stereo feel much better than Psy Q or Brainworx BX 'stereo' knob. Or any stereoexpander device.
This device was missing to the Scope arsenal...

Now, I need practice with it and I hope the Hubird link to uad k-stereo plugin will help.

I think it's going to be part of my usual mastering chain effects. I'm really happy to have it. Unlike some guys, the fact that the device is free doesn't mean I dont't care for it. Peter's free Multimaster MB5 has already my preference between Optimaster. Peter's free devices quality can hold the comparison with expensive plugins. Even with its GUI.

:) !! FAN-TA-SSS-TI-K !! :)

Don't know how to thank you more than to say thanks a lot, Peter !

The one with adjustable white noise is excellent as you can lower or turn off the white noise.. :D

I don't believe white noise is essential... Results are absolutely brilliant.

Very well done.
I liked the sound of the noisy version and knew it would work fine in a mix.
This version is even quitter and still has the trimmings.

This worked very well on a sample of an Oud that was really well recorded and has great articulations/keyswitches but it was just dead center and lifeless during a mix.
Thjis boosted the signal w/o red lining my meters and was easily placed in the stereo field, very nice.

Here are a few examples. The original is in mp3 format, remaining are 16-bit .wav. Sorry for the delay, Peter! Configuration: Scope Pulsar 2@96khz, Reaper, 16bit ASIO

Many thanks to: http://www.cambridge-mt.com/ms-mtk.htm I picked a track which was mixed dry.

Four examples of processing using Peter's K-Stereo: http://www.virtualsalonassistant.com/kstereoclone. 3.1 or 9.0 db effect processing, and normal or soloed (just the effect, no original track).

Edits: the original track is mixed dry & sterile, for folks to try out their sweetening skills. Simply by applying a few db of K-Stereo, it turned into something really nice :)

Many many thanks to Peter for this & all these other devices!
