SubModevZ
SubModevZ
SubModevZ is a modular module that allows to save modular patches ready to be loaded inside Modular 2, Modular 3 and Modevz
The main concept is "patch it", "save it", "load it".
Multiple SubModevZ patches can be loaded in a single Modular environment.
SubModevZ introduces a different way of making connections inside a modular environment and it's not more necessary to plug dozens of cables on the same connector, but in an easier and cleaner way, we have more connectors modules called "nodes", each one of them is related to the same group of connectors (subdivided by colors).
SubModevZ is equiped with Modcon, a modular control surface that allow us to build our perfect sized control surface.
SubModevZ is based on a modified Modular 1 engine and it's free for all Creamware - Sonic Core Scope users.
Please go to the devices section of devz.org to download it.

It's like a reinvention of the Modular and the MRC! If this Mod Con is customizable, then it sure is someting we had all been waiting for!
I have tried the preset, but I can't figure out how to load modules into the SubModevZ modular window... there are no menus, an clicking on the DEVS logo opens a credits panel... What am I missing? I have Mod II and Mod III installed...
edit: It seems that dragging from the explorer window works... silly me but where are the modcon modules?
Any help?

Just look greats !!!
This should almost be the extended MRC that was asked by Breitner:
http://www.planetz.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=21456
To get closer to the request of Breitner, only 2 pots miss to get closer to the physical surface of a BCR 2000.
I will try it and see if I should go on fighting with the SDK to achieve this or if I can now concentrate on over projects...

wow! fantastic idea!!!
it will be interesting to see how this goes!
I suspect I will use this to create stereo versions of lots of mono-filters
It would be great to have more inputs, for sending modulation signals to the SubmodevZ. For example. with a filter you can then send Cut/Res modulation signals to the device!
Are there any drawbacks with latency/dsp usage/whateverness ? Would it be a good idea to create a simple stereo lowpass filter submod, with 2 modules inside ?
It would also help if we could display some text on the module inteface. Telling us what kind of submod it is, or what the in/outputs are. If we have more input signals, you can then put some text describe what kind of signal the device expects.
Just an idea, I am definitly loving this idea. Will test soon.
Thanks!

hi!
wow ... cool innovation for scope
realy a great work
i tested it for 2 hours and bulid a first test patch to see how it works....and it works fine
reload of a mod2 patch with my own submoddevz inside works also fine and also my own control surface there are no side efects and crashes until now
but the dsp usage is very high
i loaded only the empty submoddevz...and my scope pro 14 dsp system can only handly ~11 of this empty devices i tested this also with the sub mod loader
and i can load ~22 of them
maybe its possible to setup the connections modules in a dynamic way to avoid dsp usage ....because the module is usefull to setup basic circutes with are often used...and baisc circutes dont need so much connections .... but im not the hardcore a mod patcher
but very very thx for this great tool

1) tried to use a normal mod2 win insert modcon basic controlers ...Tau wrote:It's like a reinvention of the Modular and the MRC! If this Mod Con is customizable, then it sure is someting we had all been waiting for!

sequencer midi source 1-> modular2win->[ mod midi in -> modcon basic controlers -> midi merger -> mod midi out] ->sequencer midi dest 1
updates in cubase will be seen on the modcon basic controlers ..and update modcon basic controlers can be recorded in cubase ... but in this case i need to turn off midi out in cubase ..otherwise i got some midi loop
so maybe if i but the bcr hardware in this midi chain it will work better..but no time left to test this right at the moment
2)where is the modcon modules
if i load submoddevz in the scope routing win ... right click ...surfaces .. open mod win ... in the mod win ..in the middle under the routing buttoin is the modcon button ...... click it
if u load a submoddevz module into an other modular win .. just click on the modcon icon on submoddevz surface

woah very nice gift, thanks!

Re: SubModevZ
so.. can this be used as a regular MRC as well?
i mean:
open up modular3.
make a patch.
assign controllers to the submoddevz surface.
save the device.
AND!: does it work in xtc mode?
