Dear Shrommz,
Sorry for the many suggestions here but I hope these are the best of all of us !
Could you please also when link is activated then the insert effect become STERO ?!!
So that we could put a stereo effect like limiter across the linken channels.
That would be fnatastic feature !!

Dimitrios

When using a mixer you have to lose some dB from the signals that are to be summed. Headroom is always limited.

I previously said that it would come in a smaller version at some point so I won't go back on that, but it's going to be quite a lot of work. Look out for v1.0.
Ok. Thanks! I ll wait :)

...

BTW, I second musurgio's suggestions :)

The db difference is ok if it has to do with headroom but the other suggestions would be great if they could be implemented !
Thanks

Musurgio, you're suggestions are always welcome. We've been thinking about the issue with the insert slots since we added the stereo link functions & I think we have solution. :) You're right about the input gain parameters, they would be better linked as well.

Keep the feedback coming, you've all been a great help so far.

Dear Shroomz,
Is it difficult to make a 8,12,16 (whatever) channel adder like auxmix but with leds ?

Hi shroomz,

4 pre send buttons wouldn`t hurt....
for higher send mix levels (>50% wet)...

some other problems I had :
- the channel inserts do not work over here...
- the reverb send fx does not mix into main mix bus, but i can switch it on with the sub busses

I thought that was normal mixer behaviour?

musurgio,
we've got too many other devices to get finished before starting anything else, but to answer your question, more multichannel adders aren't too difficult to make.

hifiboom,
- the aux sends are already set up as 2 pre, 2 post.
- the inserts all work fine here apart from ch1&2 pre inserts being round the wrong way, which will be fixed.
- the aux returns can be fed to the mix or either of the busses via the corresponding buttons above & below the 4 blue capped faders (just like the 12 channels). Make sure you switch the aux's ON dsp by engaging the button located between the aux 1 send levels & aux 1 return EQs. When you hover over that button a pop-up description of the buttons function appears. There is a small bug in the led meters for the returns which we'll fix.

regards,
Shroomz

shroomz,

now I realized that clicking the Rtn label below channel does allow me to mix to main bus....
thats a cool feature, just didn`t know.
Great, really powerful feature

which of the sends are the 2 x pre and 2 x post sends?
i`ve checked both stereo sends and both seem to be post sends....

The buttons at the bottom beneath the faders (with the green text) switch the channels, aux's & busses on & off the mix.
Must be old age :D

Anyway, yes that's correct regarding the sends. Both pre aux sends are mono (sends 1 & 2) and both post sends are stereo.

Shroomz:

I've been thinking. Could you do a channel strip based on this mixer? Just the drive, EQ and fader. Mono/stereo version.

Perhaps even a valve compressor further down the line ;)..
Or even expand the EQ to have two sweepable mids.

Of course, only for the channel strip device. That would rule.

Sounds good to me too, the only issue is that I think MCCYRANO might have mentioned on the forum somewhere that he had a built a nice tube/valve compressor, so we could wait to see if he releases it

cheers!!

Shroomz just a question....

if you take out the complete ECC tube stages, how much DSP power will the mixer need?

An untubed version may be a good replacement for the STM16/32 mixer?

if the ECC tubes take much power you could blow it up to a 32 channel untubed mixer...
hehe :D
This thing has true stereo sends, while the STM only has mono sends...
8)
+ its really handy to have the EQs right there available for usage

Yeah, I think I read that tip he shared in the forum a while back. Sounded somewhat like a proposition. Anyway, he did do a tube EQ too. Can't have enough of anything really ;).

My main point though was just a channel strip from the mixer in its own device.

I think we should do the channel strip at some point, but please don't hold your breath in the meantime.
