So what we're saying is that only panning makes this device useful.
I think the device we want has has 3 signals L/R panned,R phased, and mono in the middle. Is that possible to create even though it can be done on the mixer?
Thanks

don't argue about "stereo channels" etc. this is for a particular use, and if you don't need it please ignore this device

Hi

This is basicaly the zenon with out controls?

used the zenon a while back to do that two mic technique to get a stereo recording.

so now the device automatically knows whether to encode or decode? And i would still be able to record a stereo file with front and side recording?

front/middle mic into left.
Side mic into right.

Would that be the correct way of using it?

Glad it's back. if it IS the zenon in disguise.

Cheers

Haven't used this yet, but I intend to. I don't do mastering but in the mixing world I would think the main use for the encoder would be for applying dynamics to stero sounds without inducing phase problems.

One example:

- Take the stereo source (e.g. drums) and feed 'em into a stereo compressor.

- Take the same stereo source and feed it into the M-S encoder.

- Take the middle output and feed it into both side chains on the compressor.

Another example, for "widening" a stereo sound:

- Take a stereo source (e.g. 100% wet stereo effect)

- Run the stereo source into the M-S encoder

- Run the side output into 2 phase-inverted mixer channels, panned hard left and right.

This will give you wide stereo spread. For example, if you run a mono vocal into a stereo reverb, then get rid of the centre part of the reverb, you can widen the voice without muddying the centre.

Thanks Roberflas and Neutron! Looking forward to trying her out...

yes this is the xenon codec without controlls. you can do all of the things codec could with mixer etc, so no point loading up extra dsp for no reason.

it doesnot "automattically know" it is just happens by the way the circuit works the same DSP symetrical circuit that happens to encode also decodes.

with a bit of luck and as far as i could test and know from the design. the encoding and decoding should not degrade the sound at all.

Could anyone says to me if this routing is correct for this plugin usage?
Thanks in advance :)

That looks right. if you put effects only on the s channel iit works on the "stereoness" and m works on the common signal.

is anyone still using this, and if so is it compatible with scope 4.x ?
otherwise it might be time for a refresh

What about ADT...................Oh sorry. 8)

That would be a great Unison Vocal Effect for choruses and such. :D

The plug has a strange behavoiur in SDK: don't remembers the routing with others effect chained... any confirm on that?
Maybe, if you are not so busy, a refresh for 4.5 (or better 5.0 ;) ) is a good idea
Thanks Neutron!
