Project Mercury - Akai AX80 Clone

Post by sharc »

Another of jhulks patches. This one's based on the Akai AX80 analogue polysynth.

Download here - http://www.bcmodular.co.uk/forum/downlo ... .php?id=76

BC Modular forum users may recall an earlier version of this patch to which jhulk posted a dropbox link - https://www.dropbox.com/s/r3ch4wukkwxnl ... 80_005.zip

Since then in collaboration with jhulk I've developed the patch a little further and added a BCM-48 Control Panel. Having never played an AX80 I've no idea how close this is to the original, but all the same I think this patch is coming along nicely. Even though we still plan on developing it further with a custom control panel and optimized SDK developed version in the pipeline, we've decided to share it as is for everyone to try out in meantime.

Enjoy :)

It does look a little bit crazy, but if you mute the purple cables it should be slightly more familiar to anyone who's used to working with Modular.

I'm keen to hear any opinions on the sound of the patch. Please don't hold back. Constructive criticism is always welcome :)

PS - I left the gain control on the Filter LFO turned down in case anyone is wondering why that isn't working

when i just play with the sliders i turn all cables off as its already patched

you only want to see the cables to see how it was put together and for finding errors

but with that bcm there its easy for controlling

it needs a nice old bbd and phaser

which was lacking from the ax80 and why every one thought the juno was better but the ax80 had 5 osc and could do sounds that the juno could only dream of

i think if akai fitted a chorus unit it would of been killa

ill send you the deep equinox phaser for it and a bbd
