In case any of you guys broke down and bought excellent G.O.S.T. Harmonic Bundle, this is my favorite way of getting Distortion. It's so controllable, especially if you use MIDI.
Poly FIlter and sheer amount of Filters and LFO's can get a wide variety os Saw sounds.

One more Snapping Envelope, Saw is the effect, but can be bypassed, or exchanged for Dirt by Hummel, or an entire replacement of the Mono Insert Module with a Stereo Insert Effect.
