FM Filter Bass Gen

Hi,

Here's my first modular patch posting to PlanetZ, so please be gentle! The aim of the patch is to use modules for secondary purposes, as part of our course homework.

It uses a Filter in self-oscillating state to act as an FM modulator, being modulated by a slow sine wave, which is in turn sync-ed to an env. It makes some interesting industrial bass sounds and some nice manipulations include tweaking the Cutoff of the modulating Filter, the main low pass filter (polyFilter) and the Distortion amount.

Let me know what you think of it.

Thanks,
Will

Hehe! Glad you like it. I've found it quite tough getting good sounds out of the secondary usages. A lot of my attempts end up sounding a bit like chainsaws! Obviously it's just about learning and experimentation.

It gave me a nice Frequency moded sine, with a huge modulation range and a good set of filters.
Acidic  !

Yeah and put some dual cabled out LFO on the FIlters, and a distorion module in polyphonic mode post VCA and pre Poly Out Modules. Its just too much fun patching in Modular, especially when someone else has done the basic work for us.....
