Metaphysical Scope

Post by ChrisWerner »

It´s few years back when NI endowed their users with a small gimmick called Metaphysical Function to christmas, do you remember?

This year I thought it would be nice to endow Planet Z with something similar.

Here we go with the Metaphysical Scope version.
Of course it has some differences but the sound comes really close, but in our well known scope quality.

One difference is that you have to trigger a note/key, so you can use this version as a usual synth, too. But for building soundscapes I suggest you latch a key, anyway if you have enough DSPs this can work as a polyphon synth too.

It is not possibel, at least for me to present you the nice intern recordable automation for almost any parameter and this version hasn´t the nice scope window, but automation can be done in your favorite host sequencer/midi and there are enough visualisation tools out there.

A further update will follow I have some things in my head but now enjoy this first version and get lost in great soundscapes, if Santa lets you.

Happy Christmas to you and all of Z.

Edit: zip version now

I'm sorry to interrupt your zip/rar discussion with some (I know, absolutely offtopic- sorry again) notes on the patch.
hey Chris, this is a great one. although you forgot to upload the SampleOsc wav ("cannot load..."), the sound of your patch is awesome. Thanks a lot!

ok, but now back to Mac/PC discussion again...mmh- I think, Mac is better, isn't it? But OS9 is outdated! right? :)

Thank you, the sample isn´t too important just a pulsating sub wave.
Try it also with some drum loops!
Anyway, I like the lharc compression most, should run under DOS 3.x .

Cheers for your real comment :-)

Chris this Synth is fabulous !!! Thanks a lot.
It's right there on par with Morpheus. One could easily do a movie soundtrack just with a long sustained note.
So ethereal.

Nice gift (but a true dsp eater for smaller cards... ;-) )

Indeed a very very nice sound. I know very little about modular so this patch is way above me to fully understand, but that didn't stop me to get some really deep rich drones out of this patch.

Many thanks and festive wishes to you, Chris.
