with a new luna 2 in preset background project i used to play games sometimes before adding the triple-dat plug-in to use this machine to record our usual live instruments like bass, guitar, keyboard etc. over a 2496 i/o box.
in the background preset there were the midi modules set and i could play games (win98se) with the right sound; after starting a new project and getting the tripledat-stuff and all extern hardware like dat, md, cd, sampler etc. and some more 'connections' to work, i was so happy that i overwrote all preset projects with the ONE, as if it had been set up by god's hand...nom de dieu!
result: about half of the games (.wav, mp3 etc.) sound normal, the other half just makes ugly sounds (more like noise) but it's obvious that it's the gamesound, as sometimes there can be heard melodies for about 1/10th second
no problems with directx8
so, if it's not asked too much and, if there aren't only people around here who never would play any games, could you tell me in some easy words what to do do get the midi-sound from today's games to work (what's asio?)
as i am musician first i always need days to configure something for what all of you would need minutes...it's not the work i am afraid of, it's the time missing!
thx a lot,
greg
