I am sure there must be something easy that I am not doing right. But I am trying to record Audio in Logic or Cubase and the mixers within those programs do not show a signal going in (LED meters not responding). I am also trying to record the output from my Midi parts and software synths(in essence the same thing). Now everything works within the Pulsar environment. There is a signal going in and it shows up in the LED meters.
i am sure there is a basic solution that I am not aware of. Please help. I should add though that when I use The Big mixer from Pulsar version 2 and use my old set-up it works. So I must have connected something incorrectly. By the way you may notice that the ASIO Source isn't connected, but I have it connected, so that is not the problem.
I will also include my old project using the BIG MIXER where everything works. But you will have to see another post

Thanks in advance for your response(s)

Yes, the problem is you've connected the Aux Returns to the ASIO input. If you want to use direct outs (which is what it looks like you're trying to do) then on the Main mixer window go to Option (bottom left) and highlight the Direct Outs button. Now you're mixer will have a load of direct outs. Or you could use the Bus Outs which are always there (on the right).

That setup is not going to work.
You have an input going to another input IE an aux input (aux rtn) going to an asio input (asio dest). One of those needs to be an output (e.g. bus out, synth out etc).

From what I can gather from your explanation, you are trying to record the output of the synths back into Logic/Cubase.
If that is the case then I would:-

1. leave the synths connected to the STM2448 (for monitoring purposes) and make a second connection directly from the synths outputs to ASIO DEST channels

-or-

2. connect ASIO dest to the bus outs and send the appropriate input channels to the bus outs.

-or-

3. Activate the direct outs and use them to connect to the ASIO Dest (essentially the same as option 1.)

If you are using effects within the 2448 on the synths then things get more complicated. I would personally add effects and stuff at mixdown after you have completed recording all instruments.

If like I can PM you some example project pics.

Hi bassdude,

Thanks for going through the trouble of answering.
I would really appreciate it if you could paste an example project.
I essence I am trying to achieve the same kind of set-up that I had with my Big mixer project. See:

http://www.planetz.com/forums/viewtopic ... forum=14&1

But I want to use the STM 2448 mixer. I mainly use the ADATS to have access to my external effects unit (Ensoniq DP4+)

Thanks in advance

The problem is, the stm2448 is 24 Ch 8 bus mixer whereas the Bigmixer is a 32 Ch 16 bus mixer. So you are not going to be able to setup the same project using the stm2448 as you did with the BM.

What do you use logic for? Do you use it for mixing or mainly as a tape recorder? I ask this because I use the sequencer purely as a tape deck (automation as well) and mix entirely within SFP. I don't want to send you pics that might only confuse you more!
