FixAttr.bat - batch file to fix 'missing' files issue

Here's a batch file to help with a problem that some users occasionally encounter with Scope installations under Windows XP (especially when installed from CD). The batch file will prompt you for input and give you examples, you must supply your scope path.

Basically what it does is unset the H and R (hidden & read only) attributes that sometimes get set on odd files installed by the Scope installer, typically dsp files and the like. I included simple error checking to make sure you typed the path correctly (although it only checks to make sure that the path exists).

Download the file from the links below, then run the batchfile from anywhere on your Scope computer and follow the prompts.

From my site in zip format (avoids some firewall/antivirus apps complaining about the batchfile inside):
http://www.kief.net/studio/FixAttr.zip

Original file here from planetz:
http://www.planetz.com/Pulsar/files/presets/FixAttr.bat

(edit: fixed the html that wound up in this message from a recent forum conversion, and added a 2nd link with the file zipped)

This saved my hide when I got my new machine a while back. Files went AWOL after the install but this rounded 'em up real fast. A belated thanks, valis!!

...your post kept me from getting very, very, very upset.
This is so silly! CW did such a great job, but there are certain thinks that are pretty annoying. It started with "Cannot open *.rgy file", which was simply due to the fact that I typed in the install directory rather than creating it with "Create new directory"

However, many thanks for your post! Many thanks that you shared your findings!
Can't tell you how glad I am, that I found your posting.

Merry christmas & happy new year.

The key is to just extract the HTTP adress ( in this case, http://www.planetz.com/Pulsar/files/presets/FixAttr.bat ) and paste it in your browsers adress bar. Just a general tip that works for lots of devices on this site that seems to have disappeared :)
