sdk doc

Post by idiso »

Hi!
IN the sdk forum there is not a lot happening concerning the sdk documentation(except shayne white's first time use.doc of course!!).
As there seems to be a lot of interest in a sdk documentation though i thought-and i sent a mail to wolf but without reply -why not pay for it .
Just a suggestion.
It could look like this: all members interested pay a certain amount to a senior developer(i asked wolf about that, but as there is no reply so far-
perhaps there is someone available here!?)
to make him/her write a function list of atoms,or tutorials, how to handle ram, quicken up workflow or whatever.

It should be someone thinking of being able to handle this. He/ she could? give a bank connection just to see if it works.
As i said i mailed wolf asking about legal concerns, but so far no reply.I do not know - with discussion about new products in mind - if sdk is still being supported by creamware in some way,but the software is definitely capable of creating great devices even in future (if you just know how ).
Thanks for any reaction.

The registration page on the sdk forum doesn't display the confirmation code when we view it in Firefox here, so I haven't been able to register.

Obviously that means that I've not read the 'first time use' doc, but to be honest, what I'd love to see is an 'advanced' tutorial explaining the more advanced concepts in detail, IE the various uses & functionality of Scope logic. The sdk 4.0 manual has links to tutorials, but we didn't get all of the tutorial pdfs. I think perhaps they only went out to DP users, but that's just a guess.

Blind experimentation will bring the understanding I'm after, but it'll take a lot longer to achieve unfortunately than it would with advanced tutorials available. :)

wrong guess :)
the two pages I got were just .. well some letters on a paper.

However feel free to ask. I think any developer will be helpful (if he receives the mail ;) )

Hello!
That is exaly what i mean,Shroomz.Although i do not quite understand what you are correponding about with wolfgang-i got the first time use.doc,it's excellent.
But furtherleading advanced tutorials-where are they?I got the manuals included in sdk 4.0 but where are the links(tutorials)?

I sent wolf the mail again and i'll wait for an answer, perhaps i'll see clearer then.

The links are on page3 (table of contents), but we're missing a couple of pdfs. We don't have the 'Part II : Processes.pdf' which is the last link in the 'chapters' folder & we're also missing the 'Circuit Design Tutorial.pdf' because it was a corrupt file.

I count lot more than 100 brilliant sites of manual here ... btw. you can download them again any time you want. My account to the SDK download (which came by post with the number) still works and I tried downloading the files this weekend.

Gustav, you need to send an email requesting this to wr[***AT^^^]creamware[***DOT^^^]de

You should probably include your name, address & the serial no. of your Scope board.

Thanks! I hope it wasn't too confusing without pictures and other chapters to go along with it. I got almost no feedback when I first posted it, so that was kind of why the project went dead.

I think we really should start it up again. I don't have as much time to work on it as I used to, but some work is better than no work, isn't it? Some additional basic tutorials can be written at least -- but I don't know how to do everything, especially with MIDI, so I'll need some help from those who have figured it out. :)

Cheers,

Shayne

HI!
At least great news!:D
We should try to start it again!
(by the way:the first time use.doc is great because it takes you by the hand through a module building process, what the manual does not do to this extend)

I try to write down things which i think could be useful, although i am not that experienced and i also got the "time" problem.
Unfortunately i just got the "public" edition of sdk where scripting is not supported.
E.g.i want to build a control range converter module but it seems to me it is not possible without scripting.
Also i am interested in where you(me)could still buy the full sdk.
Does anybody know if ReD_MuZe (adern)builds all his moduls solely with the "open sdk" 4.0?

Thank you.
