Hi John,
Firstly I LOVE this community site - I would not have been able to survive in my scope world without it :-)
I applaud you for your efforts.

I would like to make a donation but hate paypal. if you send me your iban, swift and bic details i will gladly make a bank transfer.
(REALLY hate paypal :-))

I would also like to make a suggestion.

I am sure a number of the hardcore planetz users would happily pay a voluntarily yearly subscription of a small amount, perhaps around 10 euros or so, to keep the site up and running.....
Maybe organise a yearly get together in each region if a small profit is made :-)

Another thought i had is i actually ran a small company a few years ago, providing cloud server space for on line gaming communities, and found this to be reasonably cheap. I basically rented a box from a company and then subleased parts of it out to gamers who hosted multiplater tournaments.

If you would like I could make a few suggestions as to companies which offer on line hosting with as much bandwidth as you may require and for not much money. Sadly I no longer do this myself or else i would make you a great offer, in the spirit of planetz sharing :-)

I would however be happy to contribute effort in finding a good solution for you.

Best of luck, and let my know if an iban donation possible.

Thanks for the kind offer and suggestions.
I don't love Paypal either, but it seems to be the easiest way to send money... My bank charges exorbitant fees for wire transfers :(
I've never felt comfortable with the idea of a subscription model. I hate the google adsense ads- maybe I'll disable those.
I just want to be able to cover hosting expenses, and currently, via the few donations I receive here, I am doing fine with that, so I don't feel a need to change it at this point.
Cheers,
-John

Is email still applicable for donations? I would like to donate for the help Gary has given me the past week.

Thanks

Thanks for the support over the years!
For now, we've removed all the donation buttons associated with me.
Maybe we should unsticky this topic and Matt can start a new topic if/when he sets up a new donation system for scopeusers.com?
