Yes I checked it out, and was converted to a new religion. Very effective spam.
Very unresponsive forum too.
I think I just stay here and wait until I see the Parseq DAW actually finished.

For those who are bored I suggest buying the Synthschool videos and really digging into things we already have that work, and are much deeper than we think.

Wassup Will, hope everything is OK woth you...

I think my question was a little larger than both of those. If John wants to continue to maintain this forum that's great! It's his life he can do whatever he wants ha ha. And nobody appreciates what he's done for the cause more than me. But clearly there is a cost to John to keep it up and running otherwise why ask for donations? I think this "donation" issue was more at the heart of my query than anything. I mean almost any other audio company of merit has their own user support forum. I understand it requires effort to administer it but I doubt it's a full time job.

If you're shopping around (especially for a sophisticated audio product like XITE/SCOPE) - wouldn't you feel a little better knowing the company in question thinks enough of their customer base to have some sort of on-line 24/7 help available? The help doesn't always have to come from the mothership. Peer-peer help is often better than corporate help especially considering the time differential of users around the world. Seems like an intelligent marketing decision if nothing else. Creamware originally had their own support forum and it was quite nice from what I remember. Not as nice as Planet Z but it served the purpose just fine.

Johns position might be made easier if there was at least a concept of a plan B. So thats where I see a good part of the value in it.

Thanks guys. You have probably noticed that I don't frequent these forums as much as days-gone-by, as I'm busy with other projects. But the community has evolved over the last 10+ years to be fairly self-sufficient and self-moderating. Its because of the the positive community and good vibes here that I continue with it.
This question of a plan B comes up from time to time, with kind offers from Gary and others, to take on ownership of the site. I'll let you guys know if that becomes a necessity for me, and you'll let me know if it becomes a necessity for you (e.g. http://forums.planetz.com/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=30568 )
Meanwhile, thanks for any donations to cover operating costs, etc, and it's all good :)

Good to see you outside of NAMM, and good luck at Korg.
Time I send in some skins, meger as they are at the beginning of the month I can get away with expenditures. It's when my better half is having her Retail Therapy sessions. ( shopping )

Peace.

Keep forgetting to donate, just done it while it's on my mind.

Anyway, Korg are doing great things at the moment - love the Velcro series (valco is it?) and the mini-MS20. Fun analogue boxes.
