Indeed!!! Paypal is a horrible suckfest made by thieves and complete idiots imo.I never used it and i refuse to.They can hold your money for 28 days until the person who sended it cleared it for transfer..wtf???
Maybe google checkout(payment) is a worthwile option?

Hm, google checkout appears to only be available if you advertise with Google AdWords

Am I wrong?

My paypal account shows that everyone who donated in the last week had their payment reversed. You should have your refunds. Please make sure you do!

Goodbye again paypal...
Back to the over-priced Kagi, until I can figure out something else:

I added the Donate button back, now pointing to http://store.kagi.com/?V6W

I would be just as happy sending a good old-fashioned postal money order. At the least the extra expense is going to support the mail system....so if you post the address and the particulars...

Thanks Crickstone.

Anyone who wishes to send a donation via postal mail, pmsg me, and I'll send you my address. (Doesn't seem like a good idea to post it in public).

Thanks Feg.

And, believe it or not, Paypal has completed their "review" and unlocked the account (ok, so we're not terrorists and thieves afterall???)

So, now do I trust them or not? I've received a couple donations with paypal since they unlocked the account, and they seem to be working... Their fees are definitely low (much lower than kagi) and they are considered the industry standard.

I just can't believe they can be so successful if they treat customers like this.

Hmmm

afair kagi accepted paypal as well, so from the donator's side it's no difference
will you establish 2 different buttons now? I've done some donations successfully via paypal, so I'm fine with them.

On typical small donations (<$20) Kagi charges about 10%. Pretty brutal.
Paypal is typically less than half that.

As for the buttons, I'll try switching the donate button back to paypal for awhile, and if they freak out again, I'll quit paypal for good.

Sigh.

I've been reviewing PayPal's policies this pm. They should have no problem whatsoever with donations. I'm wondering if there was an issue with a specific donator's account, rather than PZ as a whole...

Another music-equipment-related site - which I used to admin - used PayPal with no issues. This was over a period of a few years. Lotto-style stuff (think raffle tickets) were verboten, but straight donations were just fine. I researched this pretty thoroughly a couple years back, but you know how policies can change.

So I dunno. Time will tell as has been pointed out already. 8)

(if PayPal could come straight about what was up, that would be interesting to know)
The first action people should take is to remove cash from Banrural, and break the banks of corrupt people. #escandalogt

Yeah, I *know* paypal is ok with donations- I got the "Donate" button and code directly from them their "donations button generator".

Who knows why they decided we were suspicious?! They refused to give me any information about that on the phone, saying it's against their fraud policy to tell me. Whatever!

In any case, I've received a couple donations since I switched back to paypal, and I was even able to withdraw to my checking account without them freaking out, so I guess they've decided we're just a bunch of musicians after all :)

Thanks for your dedication through the years and thanks to the community: it's a benefit that has no value for me!
