Sound design forum

Post by the19thbear »

Hi folks. I made a sound design forum. This is in no way ment to compete with planetz, so i hope you think its ok of me to post here:)
Its a place for sound designers in the film/game industry/foley artists/sound editors etc.

If you work in this field and would like to be a part of the community head over to www.wedosounddesign.com
Its meant to be a place to hang out and share presets, patches, ask questions, and to learn and grow.
:)

Must be your ISP Dante, it's working fine here.

Good luck with the new forum the19thbear!

The first thing you need to do is try to figure out what software your clients are using that's blocking your site. (Or maybe it's their ISPs that are using something.) Yes, there are lots of possibilities, but the first one to start with is probably Websense. Even if Websense isn't responsible for your clients' problems, it's worth seeing how your site is categorized.

Websense has a "site lookup" that you can use to see how they categorize your site, but you have to set up an account and log in to access it:

http://www.websense.com/content/SiteLookup.aspx

From Websense's contact page you can (without registering), check how they categorize your site with SurfControl (another filtering product that Websense bought out) and you can request that they re-categorize your site if it's wrong:

Yes, WebSense was the blocker in my case.

So it took about 2 weeks to get 30 users. Really cool! Thanks to the people who registered:) let me know if you have any comments about the forum and if you feel like it, please register and participate in the discussions and create your own. I learned a lot on planets since I joined in 2003! (Sadly I don't use the scope products anymore since I went Mac) and it would be great if any sound design/foley etc people could gain from the community at wedosounddesign.com
:)
