Thanks for the explanation. I'm a relative newcomer to scope.

Delighted to hear you have an early release of the v6 SDK.

So, how many old-skool PCI DSPs does an instance of the device with two-pre and two-post analysis threads running use?

Thanks, Eanna

As usual you assumed correctly, I have juice to burn as I only use Kontakt, but I do have an ancient hardware meter since I never believed PC's meters.
Task Manager always says Kontakt is lying, and my meter coming from Kontakt as usual clips when Red, but that shows as -3db on the hardware, but Scope is accurate in it's metering, and I am sure your Analyzer is an excellent tool.
I got it because it's pretty. I shall read the manual and maybe learn something.

Thanks Thomas and btw Scope 6 gives me a Woody........

You guys always come up with something to pique my interests.

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.... :D

I just purchased and am waiting for the license.

With 4 inputs, and the ability to combine two channels in several ways, I will be making great use of this together with Modular. The ability to fine tune oscillators and filters is of great benefit when creating new effects (making filters track input frequency vs. midi keyboards for example). Thanks tgstgs, this looks great, and tools like this are really helpful.

+1

Just ordered it and look forward to trying it out. Thanks Thomas, another useful tool from G.O.S.T. A bit small for my Christmas stocking though, so will just have to have it early, haha :)

Merry Xmas all :)

tgstgs wrote:@hurolura yes the drawing of curves on the screen is done by the host;
my worst case test pc is a 3GHz singlecore with onboard grafix;
tested without any probl.

@Eanna no it is NOT true

@mausmuso this is not true;
you see phase differences better than with any other analyzer;
you could simply perform a left minus right wich is done in frequency domain in frequency views;
so the difference you see is per bin frequency!!

as for the filter . . well there are for sure a lot of better filters avail in the scope platform;

@niceboy

well i would be interested to see a white noise feed in your feedback circuit with the analyzer at the output of your circuit;
maybe historiesed course im not sure if your feedback circuit is timedependant;
--
Micro Farad is not interesting in digital domain;
what you are building are filters;
check the frequency response youre after;
in the condenser datasheet you have a frequency response curve this is what is possible to rebuild;

and btw if you use modulated delays in your feedback lines youre building verbs that are a special kind of filters;

i prefer feedforward much better to control

good vibes

Without being able to trial this device at the moment, I was responding to a comment on the previous page:
> it's heavy on the DSP usage (the most extensive version of the analyzer adds 6 bars in the DSP meter on a 18 DSP system)

I don't know what 'extensive' means here, and I don't know at what sample rate the Scope clock was running at, at that time. Does 'extensive' mean "high-quality" interpolation / small 'block size' / inter-sample visualisation of a stereo signal on the way in and on the way out (four channels)?

Are you able to embed an ActiveX component into the Scope platform UI? And keep the redraws in sync with a feed from Scope? Thought that was one of the points of Scope6, to be able to use third-party components for device GUI's? Or is that 'just' for device pads, and what you're doing is rendering the raw data feed from your Scope device?

Thanks, Eanna
Thats no so.
I am not building filters.
I am building linear feedback amplifiers.
Its really hard to convince people here in Europe , because you let people describe,
linear feedback amplifiers totally wrong in Wikipedia .
I have patents so I dont need to follow Wikipedias wrongly explanations about feedback.
We are building linear feedback amps in all Aux ,and there no fbk delay is needed.
We ask for that for vertical cut off in the bass, and since we are using all Aux for that,
on drums without having to go out of Scope , but only asking for that because Fat S,
is giving far too much subbas when making a really strong Amp with only Fat S.
On drums its not needed any basscuts because the mixer in itself with aux,
is making fantastic feedback , and no plugin is needed for drumfeedback.
Whats interesting in the digital world has changed a lot the last year.
If you dont want to help with a condensator or more than one in a Bundle,
someone else will , since we already are doing that going out to Waves Multirack,
with help of RME HDSPe MADI and back into Scope ,
having the condensator cutoff in Waves One Knob Plugins.
Someone mentioned today that DC blocking filter maybe is doing that.
I try that to see if it works.

there are 36 and 48db low cut filters in the Scope eqs already. you aren't going to get much steeper cuts than that...

EQ's are not doing vertical cut off and is totally killing the ampeffect.
Tell me instead what jk mentioned about DC blocking filter,
what its doing, or please ask someone if its possible
to make only one condensator plugin.
I dont understand emulations, if its possible.
Maybe Celmo at least can answere the question.
I am also informed that bx actually is doing that in the monomaker,
steppless almost.
I asked that and still no answere, because Wikipedia nonsence.

Please move your comments outside of this thread.
This, yet again, has nothing to do with the GOST Analyzer device.

Why !
I responded to his comment what I can see doing feedback on my Analizer,
and it has everything to do with this thread.
I did not answere you.
I am waiting for his answere ,not your answere.
As I said to him we are not doing filters.
We are doing amplifiers.
Also he knows me from before.

It does matter .
I want to know what amp will show on Analizer then,
compared to what tgstgs thought we are doing ( filters ).
Also the mastering point of view please.
I can figure out that by testing and looking.
Its sort of clear that it will be protective for the ears also,
when coming in to reverb aria ( positiv feedback ).
Thats not what we are doing.
We are doing mainly negativ feedback.
He also commented about Micro Farad.
That was of course his humoristic ability .
Also tgstgs, you asked me if I do timedependant feedback.
My answere is no for the Aux in , but when using the fbk plugin,
its only what goes in them.
So I am waiting for tgstgs response ,
Not yours either.

I just bought it :)

By the way, this device does not have any noticeable DSP usage on my PCI system.

well you see nothing at all doing feedback on your analyzer simply course it has no outpad you could feedback;
but if you feedforward your feedbackcircuitsout into the inpads of your analyzer
you would see with a sinsweep or a whitenoise feedinto your feedbackcircuit what filtereffects your creating;
as for amplification i send you some welcome to digital domain vibes;
