DAS Master IT EQ Can't find DSP file DAS COEF11 VxD

Gigabyte GA-P85-D3 motherboard
Two 14dsp cards, one Pulsar 1

I just installed Master IT EQ and get the following message: "Can't find DSP file DAS COEF11 VxD - Please check installation"

There is also a Master IT EQ LT that does work under the same key, but does not have the full complement of controls. A quick search of these forums has this error coming up with other DAS products, but appears to be an issue with Windows 8 and after? I have double checked the files from the SonicCore server, and have also downloaded and installed additional files from the DAS website. Does anyone have information on what I need to do to make this work?

it's an .sys file, even though the error message calls for a vxd file. there are no vxds in later versions of Windows.
