Six String on Scope XITE 7 @ 96kHz max 2 voices before DSP capacity limit
Re: Six String on Scope XITE 7 @ 96kHz max 2 voices before DSP capacity limit
SicString isn't actually an SC plugin, technically, but...

Sorry, yes as Gary said not even close to maximum DSP with one Six String it was just the 8 voice max on 6 string itself.
Here is an old thread on the topic.

For me, when I visit the shop, it´s in the S|C optional devices section nowadays.
So,- I guess S|C will take care maintaining those devices they sell under the S|C brand,- no ?
Who created "Sixstring" for Creamware ?
Where does the amp-sim come from ? Softtube ?

SixString is FM Music.
Dynatube is Softube, yes.
maintaining? yes, and no. it depends on the designer and the agreement. if things get too out of date and SC doesn't have the original files, then it might just be dropped. SixString is still plenty useful, however. 6-8 voices is usually plenty.

I better ask again and more precise ...
The in Sixstring´s FX section included tube amp sim is also Dynatube/Softtube ?
Never heard from FM Music as a DSP device design company before.
I googled and found nothing.
Are they gone since a long time ?
Thx for your info, Gary !

i think all of the parts of SixString are FM Music. i have no idea who they are, but they get paid when SixString sells.
as far as i know, nothing really needs to be done about SixString. it's possible that a few more voices could be squeezed out, i just don't know for sure.

Re: Six String on Scope XITE 7 @ 96kHz max 2 voices before DSP capacity limit
thx,- doesn´t matter much anyway.
What I heard from demos, it sounds good,- at least for me.
Well, I made it thru the manual meanwhile.
I´d say for that model 6-voices are essential and 8-12 voices were probably nice, depending on what the limitations of creativity are.
To be more precise,- I didn´t find functionality making a 12-string acoustic and electric model-variant as also not a 8-string bass (all cases w/ half the strings tuned in octaves),- and consequently I also didn´t find any individual string tuning explained.
I also guess a 7-string bass or guitar required a somewhat modified string model.
Would be ice on the cake though and if such features cannot be realized anyway, I don´t see the need for more than 6 voices when using the device as acoustic/ electric "guitar" and "bass" type instruments.
Maybe when looking at the device as a synth per sé, someone wants more voices,- but that´s not me.
Higher on my wishlist and for the electric amped guitar were an FX insert point post pickup and pre amp-sim/ main-FX,- just only to put some mono "wah" (resonant bandpass filter w/ some distortion, being controlled by LFO or MIDI CC#4 Foot) and a ringmod (or whatever stompbox type FX devices) in between.
I think such "wah" could be easily created within a modular shell or possible the (free) D.A.S wah would do the trick.
