How to identify the plate on my card?

Post by readymedia »

Hey there!

Have a nice 2018! ;)

I have to reconnect my audio. And I'm a bit lost. I have some cards and some breakout (with and without XLR) cables. Well there are two common types of plates standard and plus (XLR). How to identify those plates right way? Can I do it without pulling the plate of from the mother-card? I saw some pictures there in the past, but can't find it now.

Thanks, Andreas

The problem is that I sell some of my five cards and now I'm not sure, that the plate and the breakout cable are from same type... ;( Used allways ADATs, so it was easy to grab the wrong one...

I know this "sleeping issue" from scope7 discussions... ;) here is no need to be in the hurry.

Maybe this quote from Gary helps:
there is an extra small chip on the i/o daughter card, near the edge, for balancing the connection. that one uses the XLR whip.

yes, the one with the extra, small chip gets the XLR whip.
