EW Play (standalone) - cubase 9.0.30 & scope v7

Post by babaorum »

I live a kind of nightmare and I don't know now if it's cubase or Play or scope the problem but There is a big problem ...
If someone who has these 3 components could test the same way than here in the video I will be grateful ...
A video is better than words in this case I think ...

Play 6 (just purchased) - cubase 9.0.30 - windows 8.1 (64 bits)

I suspect scope v7 but I didn't try to remove and re-install v5.1 to confirm. Because I had some problems before but not that much ...

Ok I just tested with scope v5.1 , same symptoms !

Maybe Play 6 is uncompatible with scope drivers ? ...I opened a ticket to EastWest and Steinberg ...

Bad news it seems like it's the last version of drivers which crash Play plugin :(

If I run PLAY standalone version and select ASIO SCOPE PCI == > systematically crash of the PC with Blue screen.

What contact can I provide to EastWest team to talk about this with Sonic Core team ? (support ?)

Thanks,

After a new install of the PLAY software (after removing of the Program Data\East West\ folder) it works fine

except for the standalone version which crashes with selection of the ASIO SCOPE PCI drivers.

So the problem is half resolved !! but for me it's resolved because I don't use the standalone version of PLAY ... :)

I’ve been using PLAY on XITE-1 for a long time.
But I use Bidule and I don’t care for East/West drivers and stay with PLAY 4.
All of their “fixes” are for other DAWs mostly and too many people I know waste too much time trying to “fix” things when staying with Cubase/PLAY.
I can test out PLAY/Scope 7/Win 10 in a week or so and report back.

Use Hollywood Brass/Hollywood Strings.
Recently went back to Silver from Diamond on my live rig.
Not fond of the multiple mics and RAM required for 24bit Audio.

I'm beta tester for Play .... so I follow all the versions ... the v5 worked well here except the EWQLSC Wordbuilder which didn't show right the keyswitches when play of the song in cubase.
But I use only VSTi version so it will be ok for me in scope v7 + Play v6 in 64bits.
