repairing Z-Link on an A16 Ultra ?

Post by nebelfuerst »

Port A of my A16 Ultra doesn't connect with firewire/Z-Link.
I changed the driver IC, but didin't succeed.

Are there any schematics / docs available concerning Z-Link or the A16 Ultra ?

well...
that might be that. if you are skilled, you can probably shotgun the whole assembly.

I swapped the tranceiver driving the Zlink-port. But this didn't help.
Maybe I find some time to reverse engineer the design.. maybe christmas.
It's a little bit shocking, that there seems to be no service manual available for these devices, which you can find for most synths & audio equipment usually.

that is entirely up to Ferrofish.

since you're talking about companies made of a handful of people, the techs don't need a service manual. why would money be spent on that? it's not like the government was involved.
