Creating a radio online

Post by Nestor »

Dear friends, I am helping a friend of mine to build a radio station. I have introduced him to the world of SCOPE to his joy and enthusiasm. Now he has a Pulsar II installed and working correctly in a 32 bit WIN7 environment with 4GB of DDR2. We would like your advice on how to interconnect everything in the best most efficient way.
As I have just said, we have a Pulsar II as a main point. With Pulsar, we have a couple of mixers: a Behringer VMX1000 USB Pro, which is basically a DJ mixer, and a little Behringer Xenyx 502 (the one without USB).

How would the radio work? It will work through a program that can handle live radio, but I don’t remember which one it is exactly right now. Through Skype, a maximum of 3 connection will interact live with my friend as the radio announcer.

What does he need? He needs to be able to control the input volumes of every participant with some EQ included, the music that would eventually be kind of a bed for the words going on, and also a track that would be active from time to time to launch announcements.

I think this is pretty simple, but I have never done it before. I think this kind of things have more behind than what you might think it is necessary. Perhaps I am not thinking about something else that could be necessary to the process, I don’t know.

Any comments of ideas on how to connect everything would be greatly appreciated. Thank you very much!

Thank you Guppy.

Well, my friend does already have a way to the server, he uses Sam broadcaster v 4.2.2, because he says it is very stable. What I would like are ideas on how to connect, how to configure the radio with what we have, if you have any. Cheers
