Installing a 2nd card: how to?

Post by binaural »

I've got a Pulsar II card coming in tomorrow to help my maxed-out Luna card (I need the additional ADAT, too). The Luna is on 5.1 software and works great.

Is there anything I should/shouldn't do when it comes to the install? I'm hoping I could just install the new board and start working the 6 dsp's right away, not fiddling the Windows stuff, as I'm already on 5.1.

How should I proceed? I searched the forum, but couldn't find a definate answer.

Thanks!

you need an S/TDM cable to connect the two cards. if you don't have one, you will need to make one.

then, just install the card and start the computer. windows should find the driver. if it doesn't, you can manually install it from the device manager, or by just rerunning the Scope installer.

Thanks! STDM cable is provided, forgot to mention that, Hope no re/installing is required. Looking forward to mix 32 channels of two A16 in full CW quality. It really is a step up from my 03D Yamaha desk...

Thanks again,

if you run the Scope installer, it's only to install the driver for the new card. no need to uninstall...

just add new card and install driver.
i don't know which windows version you have, but with win8 or win10 you'll need to enable test mode first to install driver.

enable : (run as administrator)
bcdedit -set loadoptions DISABLE_INTEGRITY_CHECKS
bcdedit -set TESTSIGNING ON

install driver

disable : (run as administrator)
bcdedit -set loadoptions ENABLE_INTEGRITY_CHECKS
bcdedit -set TESTSIGNING OFF
