Recently i've put my dusty xite to use and had very similar issue with ada8000(similar mod to one that black lion audio does), can confirm that 48khz mode gives pops and clicks while on 44.1khz works perfectly fine, scope running as slave through adat A. This post helped me out troubleshooting the issue.

I decided to go back to Creamware only.
Everything works with the A16.
Both Z Link both ADATs. 44.1 and 48k.
Now I got a bunch of Tube OctaPres and 8200s laying around just in case.

I'm also considering getting A16, ada8000 is not in the same tier as my other equipment and at least A/D conversion is not satisfactory for me, probably its good for the money, but not where I would like it to be
