Cannot use my Xite-1 for more than 1 minute

Post by neuromantik »

Hello,

After a long hiatus in production I finally dusted off the xite (metaphorically speaking) and got back into the game... to find out at my dismay that I can no longer use it!! It seems to work for a about a minute, a little noise however than than a series of dialogs creep up (ie. copy protection, pci overload, dsp overload, bad stram) until I'm forced to quit, restart my machine, and try again for another whopping minute :-?

I've attached a couple of screenshots descibring my issues. For any help, last time I worked on Xite I was using the SDK. I completely (to my knowledge) uninstalled the old SDK drivers to put the ones in the SCOPE installer (11/23/2010 5.0.9.5), I'm running Win7 x64 (didn't prevent me from using the Xite completely, just certain functionalities), cleaned the registry, removed all usb devices.

My only hunch is maybe that the HDMI cable is perhaps faulty or not well seated on the computer end, but I can't correct gravity, it just hangs low.

Any help is appreciated, I'm losing my shit over this!!

that warning means what it says, there is bad ram on the XITE's board.

this warning MIGHT be triggered by a poor connection either with the HDMI cable or the PCIe card. you can reseat the card and the cable and try another cable. if those things don't work, you'll need to contact support for service.

No luck. changed HDMI cable, re-seated PCIe card, same issues

I'm gonna try another PC and will get back later. Nothing changed on this current PC though save perhaps installing new gfx drivers. Ugh

Yep... If you can try another pc, you'll know which one has a problem : pc or Xite... I bet it's the computer !! Who bet with me ?

I went through this several times.
Did all of the above.

I simply restarted holding shift key.
Then went through the process of driver enforcement signing again.

I know nobody believes me but once you go to Windows 8.1 Windows 10 not targets you for an upgrade.

I strongly suggest to stay off the internet or revert to Windows 7.

Only on my 8.1 build does Windows keep nagging me even after I take steps to stop updates.

Bastards actually reset my BIOS so all native stuff went to 1 core using Turbo.

Actually finshed a set then noticed the first pop up last summer.
Built me a Windows 7 DAW and ZERO troubles since.

Windows 10 i7 6i00k internet computer accepts all windows 10 upgrades now.
I download and scan content on that PC.

Windows 7 builds are internet free.
No antkvirus gunk nothing.

Just happy as hell.

Microsoft EULAs give them permission to collect.
So give them a PC and leave your DAW offline.

:o Oh ! I think there is a misunderstanding ! I was not clear enough, I believe... If it's a HDMI cable problem, I'll not consider that as an Xite problem ! What I wanted to bet is : it's not a Xite itself problem : anything but the Xite ! HDMI cable, pc or whatever you want but not an Xite issue !!
If the Xite has difficulties to communicate with computer ram because the cable is in a bad mood and has retire age, one cannot consider it's an Xite issue.

Shit... I should have been more precise... :D

the XITE has ram on the board inside the XITE. that is what the message is about....

because sometimes a warning can be triggered by seemingly unrelated things.
it's not like the warning messages are intelligent.

Update: Well the good news is that the Xite seems to work fine on a freshly installed PC with Win7 x86. Bad news obviously is that my DAW requires more than 2GB RAM :(

Guess I'm going to have to do a driver spring cleaning to see who the culprit is, preferably not reinstalling everything. Anyone know a surefire textbook method to deactivate drivers one by one and try to figure out what may be the problem? Is there a guide somewhere on PC optimization for Xite?

Thanks for any help :)

PC optimization for the XITE is the same as for PCI cards, basically. the "setting up your computer" thread in tips and tricks has the basic info. i'm glad that the unit is working.

Excellent ! I was sure of that. SC or Creamware hardware never dies.

Scope with Xite may easily need 500Mo ram + Windows (7, 8, 10, xp ?) + daw , if you've got only 2Go (?), the system could cough.
But Scope closing after 1 mn, I never experimented that, is this finished ?
