MIDI gone!

Post by zerocrossing »

So I tried unsuccessfully to connect the XITE-1 to my 828 via ADAT and Live crashed. When I restarted it, midi to the XITE was no longer available. I restarted Scope and it told me it couldn't find the hardware. Power cycled everything, restarted the computer, reinstalled everything... Scope works now, but I can't get it to recognize midi from pcie or it's own Jack.

call me tomorrow after noon.

simply connecting to ADAT ports cannot crash live or affect midi.
i.m.p.o.s.s.i.b.l.e.

these systems aren't connected and no voltage is involved with an ADAT connection.

did something else happen?

if the 828 was the interface, did you change the sync source with Live running?

if the hardware and os are setup correctly, you should never see a blue screen unless you make a positive move to crash it.

I went through the device manager and uninstalled all the software midi devices from the XITE, restarted and made a new Scope project and it's now OK. I'll call you tomorrow anyway, as I would still like to connect it to the 828 via ADAT.
