Xite-1 dead

Post by klartraum »

Hi Xited Ones,

I was using the xite-1 without any problems for years...
But i changed my studio a bit and unplugged the power.
Unfortunately the unit is not coming back to life (the led stays unlit).

So some questions for that :
1.) If you have a HIPRO power supply ? does it have a led and is it on if you use the power supply ?
2.) Is it necessary that the Xite-1 is connected to a pc so the FrontLED gets active ?

any tips are also welcome....

thank you,
Helmut

The Xite led is active as soon as you turn it on, pc connected or not.

Any power supply with a led which won't make some light must be broken. Your problem is maybe this, your Xite power supply, you can put any other with same or superior amperage features : take care of the voltage (must be the SAME), curent intensity (same or more but NOT less) and the plug dimension/shape. Go to an electronic shop with your Xite one and ask if they have the same or one with same features.

Do you have a voltmeter to check if there is any voltage at your Xite power supply output ? Simple test (!), if you don't have any, it's dead !

It's very strange it is broken just like this. But that can happens...

XITE´s pwr-supply has a LED and it glows always when connected to a power outlet/power strip,- computer up and running or not and regardless whether XITE is switched on or not !
When XITE´s pwr-supply´s LED doesn´t glow, the pwr-supply is probably the culprit and dead.
XITE, like every hardware device, can be powered up without being connected to a computer to get it´s power LED active.
I never tried because it makes no sense in normal conditions, but it should be safe (for a short try) even the HDMI cable and PCIe card isn´t connected.

the first step would be to check the power supply.

It freaked me out aswell but I soon found out how to deal with it. It happens when turning the power off for days, it s like xite is totally shut down and it takes time to reload, therefore, you have to turn it off again and wait till you the green led. Dunno if it s done on purpose but it s not in the manual. To solve it , just leave the power button on and unplug the power supply from the power source.

So glad that your Xite is alive. Power supply is cheap to replace, Xite is not :(
