how about a line6 toneport? Does the Toneport also serve as a "standard" soundcard too. What I mean is can the output signal bypass the effects so that I will hear a clean tone. For example if I have recorded a keyboard or vocal track, does that mean that it will have guitar amp/effects r...

Well, it's not for "serious" recording. As Long as it has Hi Z input for my guitar and stereo line in it will do.

Thanks

Can Anyone Recommend A Good And Cheap USB Soundcard?

Hello,

Can anyone recommend a good, not too expensive external USB soundcard. For example anything along the lines of Emu 0202, Tascam US-144 etc......... It's really for an old knockabout desktop PC.

By the way, it has to be powered via the USB port. No external power supplies.

Thanks

I got the same treatment for telling Alain Caron he can't write compose worth a damn anymore. His last album "5" is a piece of crap and I told him to ask his musician friends to write tune for him. My message got erased, just like that. I'm not surprised, I come from the same part of the ...

And let's face it, you need a very good develloped musical ear to be able to follow the melodical and harmonic structures that Jazz and other sophisticated styles of music offer........................................................................................................... You should fee...

Marshmallow, I am a fan of Gambale and Holdsworth as well and I have the exact same gripe about their composing abilities. Whatever you do, don't express that opinion on the Frank Gambale Forum. You will be metaphorically hunted down, hung drawn and quartered and your head impaled on a spike outsid...

Re: Why is Jazz hated so much here?

I have a few interesting questions which might start a nice debate: 1. What is it about jazz that turns you off? At the risk of getting some flak from jazz lovers and other genres of music, here are my answers to your questions. First of all, I like some jazz, but a lot of it sounds horrible. Ok, I...

Emu 1212m Question

Hello, Anyone out there using the Emu 1212m? Seeing it is not so expensive I was thinking of putting one into one of my older PCs (a 2.4Ghz). I hear they are quite good, but my main concern is will it mean that I will have to authorise Windows XP again seeing that in essence my hardware will change ...

Can't see "My Page" on Creamware Site.

Hello, Anyone else having problems getting into "my page" at the Creamware home site. For the last four days I haven't been able to view it because my browser for some reason isn't letting me, though I can get to the Creamware homepage. It is not my firewall by the way as I disabled it jus...

that theory is indeed pointless, as aluminium has no magnetic features whatsoever... :D ...but if your Strat would not sound kind of metallic I'd rather guess there's something awfully wrong with your guitar ;) (you have single coils on it, don't you) cheers, Tom So much for my theory then and excu...

Well, some interesting reading here. I will experiment more with Dynatube during the Christmas period when I have more time on my hands and report back any changes in opinion (if any). Though, correct me if I am wrong, but I think the metallic sound I was complaining about could be due to the fact t...

I have always been happy with Acronis. It is not free though but does a great job. I too hate having unnecessary stuff installed so use a boot CD with Acronis so the program doesn't need to be installed. However, this free one you mentioned looks good and the fact it is free is great. Pity it wasn't...

Do you know a pod which could play 4 amps at once? ;-) not even the line6 vett...

Dynatube Impressions

Hi, This is a kind of double post so excuse me. I wrote more or less the same thing in the "Off Topic" section. I just want to share my opinion on the Dynatube Bundle as this section is the more appropriate one. I recently got the Dynatube bundle, though have to say I am not that impressed...

Hi, I have the Roland Microcube and love it!!! Great sound for such a little thing. I haven't tried recording it from the record out so can't comment there. But I'll give it a try and tell you what I think. I recently got the Dynatube bundle, though have to say I am not that impressed. Pity I couldn...
