Whats wrong with Reason=>Rewire=>Cubase=>ASIO=> Scope ?? Been doing it that way 4 years .... Yes, I assume you do it in your studio but you use it live too ??? I own Cubase SX3, need the fxp/fxb standard not to lose all my presets. Only using p.ex. NI B4II upper, lower manuals and pedals eats up 3 ...

Why not use Wave drivers with some apps? PS. If your answer is latency then keep in mind low-latency performance improves with faster computer, and you said you'll be building a new computer.
