Re: no sound after dsp assignment ?
So here comes the "howto repeat": Using noise from controlroom goes through mixer, is then spread to a bunch of channel-elements. Channel element connected to Z-link1-78 is connected to speakers. Everythink works. Now I assign the (shifted) channel-element to dsp7, the sound disappears. No...

Re: no sound after dsp assignment ?
Is there any trick how to keep scope7 from running dump reallocation algo on load ? The need for manual assignment occured when using the channel element within a larger project. (30% load of xite) Obviously the auto allocation failed, thus I got an "cannot route..dsp to dsp" error, which ...

Re: no sound after dsp assignment ?
That article was the reason why I chose DSP7.
But why is the project silent after save and reload ?
If I place my mixer on output different to Z-link, I get interconnect errors. If I force the same DSP, it doesn't work after reloading.

no sound after dsp assignment ?
My projects tend to be big ones, so I sometimes face a dsp routing error on my xite. This can be solved by assigning some devices to a certain dsp. I assigned z-link ins and outs with a patchpannel to use DSP7 and it worked for hours. After reloading the saved project, there is no sound. I have to d...

Re: Cool Gear PCI to PCI Expansion
In scope, we talk about latency of milliseconds, whereas the pci bus clocks with steps of 30ns. (.. there's µs in between :) ) Latency is not a topic of the bus, but of software at driver level. The throughput/bandwidth of an expansion will half, if the adapter requires an extra 30ns cycle somewhere...

Re: Cubase Dongle problem
That's one reason, why I quit cubase
But from my old days I remember, that the dongle had its own piece of software to be installed.
Do you have evidence, that the dongle (and its drivers) is installed completely ?

Re: Cool Gear PCI to PCI Expansion
What latency settings did you use with the cards plugged into the Magma boxes? Did you have any issues with lower buffer size settings? Regarding the power question-the pulsar and scope cards need the old floppy drive power cable style connector plugging into the IO board-do the magma boxes have su...

Re: Cool Gear PCI to PCI Expansion
I have two magma expanders. One with 3 slots and one with 13 slots. The card on the pc-side can either be pci or pcie. I tried scope in the 13 slot and an old pulsar in the 3 slot-version, both worked. The 3 slot came with its on powersupply and case, but not sure if a 15 dsp would fit there. the 13...

Re: Cool Gear PCI to PCI Expansion
DFI also offers pci, like this with 5 pci slots:
https://www.dfi.com/de/product/index/1606
Nevertheless, those pci-expanders also worked for me (using magma brand). The number of masterverbs was 50% of that of the mainboard, but in my usecase not a limitation.

Re: DSP hungry (mixer-)channel
Just to mention from my side:
I love BigmixerV2, because of the perfect overview.
Unfortunately, the risk of distorsion is higher compared to modern mixers.

I tried that before, but its outputs are Xor, but I want to run my speakers in parallel, too.

Re: DSP hungry (mixer-)channel
Here's a picture of the section, which causes the trouble. I can assign all 3 channel to DSP 7 , which makes it work. But when doing so on bigger projects, I get errors on reloading, although the project worked at saving. Is there an other device doing the same job ? Is there a way to see, what DSP ...

DSP hungry (mixer-)channel
I have 3 pairs of speakers, attached to my A16u. To feed them, I use the mix-output of my mastermixer connected to 3 "channel", so I can set the volume for each pair of speakers. Although my projects are less then 25% of XITE resources, adding three channels often gives dsp communication l...

Re: WINDOWS 10 yeah, BUT... Which one? MODS and Scripts ISO
W10 can be setup to feel similar to W7, which I prefere most. shotdown10 and w10privacy can help to stop all that useless services. It takes a lot of time to adjust startmenu and desktop. I also killed defender and stopped all updates. This way you get a pretty good DAW-machine. For surfing the ugly...

Re: high quality software recording.
I tested it with PCI scope14 dsp on W10. My Xite runs W7/32, where Audacity cannot be compiled with Asio.
As crashing with bluescreen is a Nogo, there is room for improvement on the driver side.

Re: high quality software recording.
Just for fun, I just compiled audacity with asio again. The cmake-part was tricky, as that "conan" packages must be 1.x, not 2.x. Unfortunately, I crashes the W10-machine, where the bluescreen shows "scopepci.sys"... It does work with asio4all or an RME card, but not with scopede...

Re: Xite1 power adapter
Mine is labeled 12V 3.3A 40W. As a good EE never goes towards the limits of the PSU, everthing above 2A could probably work.
The only aspect might be, that there's more ripple on the voltage. But only very cheap PCBs can't cope with ripple.
