Samplitude Pro X3 Suite/XITE Scope problem

Not sure if this is the right place for this thread but thought I'd start here Are there any Samplitude users around here that have upgraded to X3? I upgraded yesterday and had an immediate problem. X3 is not recognizing my Scope ASIO drivers. I can't get past the install/configuration process. I ge...

Re: Xite-1 clocking

I know, it was disappointing to see that problem rear it's ugly head again. Anyway - it's not worth losing sleep over. The way I had it before works fine. I know now to just leave it alone and get on with life lol

Re: Xite-1 clocking

Well, that was fast. I tried running with Xite as WC master, and A16 Ultra as WC slave, and that random crackling/popping I had reported a month or so ago came back. With ADAT source modules A & B fully connected to 16 input channels of the STM2448, I am getting consistent crackling on channels ...

Re: Xite-1 clocking

Cool thanks Gary. I've been using the A16 Ultra (older black-face Sonic Core version) as master but I think I'll experiment with the Xite as master. I have a session tonite I'll see if I can detect a difference. I'm still so impressed with the quality improvement clocking made on my system I've been...

Xite-1 clocking

I have a few questions related to word clocking using Xite-1 and A16

Does it make a difference which device acts as WC master? Is the clock inside Xite better than the one in the A16 (or vice versa)?

Does an external clock (like a Big Ben or anything for that matter) improve anything?

Re: with 6 inputs crackles at higher sample rates

It's unfortunate that you guys couldn't resolve the problems with your A16's, but at the end of the day all that matters is you solved the problem. Best of luck!

It really is draining to have to worry about gear functioning properly. Takes all the fun out of making music sometimes.

Re: with 6 inputs crackles at higher sample rates

Hey everyone! Happy new year! Hope you had a great holiday. I just wanted to put some closure to my story. I've run many sessions since November and am pleased to say that there have been absolutely no problems with random clicks or pops. Changing my setup to use the A16 as master, and XITE as slave...

Re: Cloning hard drive for Backup

I use Macrium reflect free edition, it's perfect. http://www.macrium.com/reflectfree.aspx You can increment folders and files in the last version. You can boot with a boot-cd and install your backup easily with a nice gui. I will take a look too. I used Acronis for a number of years. It worked perf...

Re: xite power led flashing

wait a minute - I saw a similar thing a week or so ago when I was troubleshooting my XITE. Now I can't remember what I did to correct the problem (or what the root cause was). I'm trying hard to remember what exactly I did (or was doing to make it do that in the first place). I know I had XITE out o...

Re: Bets New MB for Xite-1

In any case, All over clocking will be managed by your specific board BIOS. So I can only recommend to read your manual, or dive through your BIOS settings. Some gaming boards have simple or even automated ways of over clocking, others might be less stable in the outcome. my suggestion on overclock...

Re: Found An A16

I just responded to a prior thread in the Xite section about almost the same issue. I've been a long-time user of the Z-Link interface going all the way back to the original Luna 2496 boxes. If there was ever an attempt to test the ADAT feature here in my studio, it didn't yield anything meaningful....

Re: Bets New MB for Xite-1

I second the Z97....my mobo has a PCIe slot that connects direct to the CPU. Despite running the on-die graphics for my i5-4690K, I can run lowest ULLI settings with full 64 ASIO channels enabled. Overclocking the RAM a little bit (up to 2400...which the RAM is rated for, and the CPU only needs 160...

Re: hacking the creamware A16 ?

This crackling problem never ends lol It's a shame there isn't a one-size-fits-all solution. Is your A16 the original model with the fan? I have two A16 Ultras (one is a gray-face Creamware model and the other is a black-face S|C model). Aside from cosmetic differences, they are both functionally id...

I hope this will be my final update on the issue of the TOSLINK connector  I also hope this information might help someone else. I was able to remove and replace the broken TOSLINK connector and replace it with the alternate Canadian part that I had ordered previously. XITE was tested and is fu...

Re: with 6 inputs crackles at higher sample rates

Well, this ADAT setup passed the stress test in an actual recording project (at 48kHz). No pops or clicks at all. If it stays like this I will be one happy camper. Time will tell. I've learned to be patient with these things. Ya never know what to expect down the road sometimes. ;-) Final update: I'...

Re: with 6 inputs crackles at higher sample rates

Well.. I was hoping to get my hands on a Ferrofish unit for testing (and possible purchase). I thought maybe I could help by either buying a unit, or testing one that seems to be exhibiting problems. I dont want it if it's not going to work with Xite. But it would be interesting to test one and see ...

Re: with 6 inputs crackles at higher sample rates

Well, well.... positive update! I had a few minutes this afternoon so I decided to try out the wordclock cable. Connected to the A16 (set as master), XITE/Scope set as slave with BNC sync source selected. Loaded a test project and Eureka! all the problems with ADAT at 48kHz magically disappeared. Ev...
