Re: DC Output
I've been waylaid with a double whammy (looking for new contract PLUS moving after 5 yrs). Neutron is the man right now. All I can hope is to help enhance/test/document, once my ducks are back in alignment

wrapping up a modular patch
Hello all, I'm looking to "wrap up" a patch, to make it easy to import into any existing patch. This is for convenience - rather than someone having to build this subset of modules up from scratch, I want to put it in a container. This could be in the form of a new Modular module. Do I nee...

Just as a point of comparison, what's the maximum with the PCI cards (on a good motherboard etc)?

Re: Modular IV on SC shop.
All those new modules ARE worth 200EU. If anyone got in on a temporary deal, then good for them. I would say that in at least one case, it is well deserved.
Anyhow, thank you for the beaver shot JV

Not what you are asking for, but another data point: Pericom+Cardbus 7MVs
This is on an older laptop w/TI Cardbus chipset, highly shared IRQ

Hell yes. :) I'm just a monobrow guitar player, but this stuff is getting easy. Why did I throw out that laminator just before leaving for Xmas??? :-? :x    I should know better. Will hit up Craigslist when I get back...Neutron's detailed instructions with pics are inspirational.

Re: Scope based hardware project.
I'm working on something similar (Neutron, we should trade notes). Am aiming for 16 channels of quick-ish CV for filter frequency, and two relatively slow channels of CV for filter Q.XITE-1/4LIVE wrote:Does this mean we can finally start getting MOTM filters and adding them to our Modular projects..?

Re: magma box again:)
Of course. In the generic sense (i.e. UAD-1) the PCI bus is shared. I should also clarify that's 133m b s NOT mhz  For some $USD numbers, I picked up a 2 slot Magma with high bandwidth (silver ends) cable & Cardbus card for around $350 used. The corresponding PCI-E adapter, either EC34, EC5...

Re: magma box again:)
Am interested in this as well. I currently have a 2nd hand magma (actually, two - a 2u unit and a 4u unit) and am using a Cardbus adapter to a laptop, meaning just extending the existing PCI bus. The Magma PCI-E 68pin adapters are $300US :( but their system is rock solid. I'm getting 7 Masterverbs o...

And they sound great :) I'm running a low gain preamp directly into Flexor & using those Flexor wahs in my live rig. guitar -> tube pre -> Scope A/D -> Modular3 with Flexor3 -> Scope D/A -> custom 28w/45w clean tube amp -> underappreciative and/or overserved audience :x :P Good tone already but ...

Re: Magma 2-slot PCI chassis
I have one of these (CardBus/PCMCIA version) and it works great. Powers two cards just fine and works without glitches. Less bandwidth (7 Masterverbs with this particular laptop) but plenty for my needs & absolutely great for synths as Tau has already said. Just a plug :P Buy without fear! -cap
