Re: scope waldorf oscillator now in hardware modular module

no fx on the k250 sn ratio is lower for lower bit depths because of the calculation in the max numbers it can compute obviously thats the k250 sample the other 12bit machines use different dacs and filters so its not just the 12bit sound but also the synth parts which act on the sound if you think y...

Re: scope waldorf oscillator now in hardware modular module

i got round to sampling some sounds from my kurzweil k250 when im back at the bristol studio ill sample the korg dss1 and the akai s950 eII emax1 i sampled them in 44.1khz stereo i did a few sounds and did every c note from c1 to c6 this is the 12bit dac sound of this instrument they dont have any f...

Re: Building a new DAW

with the emu cards only vista is supported as the latest os and there are problems with the 64bit os in that the dsp fx dont work correctly and emu dropped all os support so xp and vista really is the only choice the problem there is kontakt and reactor latest versions require minimum of win7 for 5....

Re: Back After 6 Years - Building New Scope System

unless you want massive kontakt libraries and dont mind losing the sts samplers and vdat and sts bc modular sample players then 64bit is for you if you want the samplers then 32bit is for you there is no sound quality difference and win732bit can allocated 4gb to programs so kontakt still works fine...

Re: scope waldorf oscillator now in hardware modular module

the fz1 was the first sampler to be 16bits first sampler to use a hd floppy and the first to use a digitally controlled analog filter core the sound output from the filter is analog but the frequency and resonance control was digital 8 stage envelopes great for looping and was one of my used sampler...

Re: scope waldorf oscillator now in hardware modular module

frazz7 if you want some 12bit samples recorded i can record from several devices for you if you want the challenge of replicating the sound with the sdk yes it can be done do you want me to record at all frequency settings and resonance so that you have a chance to get all coefficients of the sample...

Re: scope waldorf oscillator now in hardware modular module

i totally agree with you about the upsampling fra77z i never disputed that and why i always down sample many designers have tried to get the 12bit sound ni have a s950 and sp1200 sound 12bit emulation but it does not sound the same when comparing the problem is its not just the dacs but all the comp...

Re: scope waldorf oscillator now in hardware modular module

i have to do it as i still use the hardware so my myriads of sampling hardware i use to get that sound that produced those records of the 80,s and 90,s we make commercial dance and techno drum and bass and rave and hard house and house is kicking again in a big way i was producing this in the late 8...

Re: scope waldorf oscillator now in hardware modular module

also people need to learn about sample theorem the reason for the 44.1 khz standard professional rate is it camptures the whole frequency range of 20hz-22.5khz our hearing is 20hz-20khz now that range is for a whole performance of a song that has many instruments in different frequency ranges you ne...

Re: scope waldorf oscillator now in hardware modular module

upsampling as soon as it doubled the rate of root sample after that you get overtones as soon as frequency content goes above nyquist the best way to solve this is max uptranspose of 11 semitones or use root not as max frequency playback and only downsample this stope aliasing or you over sample the...

Re: scope waldorf oscillator now in hardware modular module

fra77z i already sent you some k3 wavetables they are 8bits saves as linear 16bit format so only have 8 bits of wavedata now the reason why they change is that they dont has sr compensation they only work accurate at 48khz thers a big discussion of this and why simon shark made sr compensation modul...

Re: scope waldorf oscillator now in hardware modular module

the sampler can use any sample rate i use a lot of 24khz samples in 8bits with linear 16bits this is 8 bit information with the last 8 bits padded with zeros they are gritty and play well in the sts oscillator and because i use multisamples i have a sample per octave starting from b0 - fo depending ...

Re: Korg Triton touch screen

if you want to load some single cycle wavetables for synth creation you can save them to floppy via a pc easily they are small so you can fit about 50 on a floppy disk my noise spectrum t5ypes are great for etheral chiors i had a triton and even though it had bigger ram i prefered my trinity as it u...

Re: sts sample start time modulation

well just for single cycle wavetable madness here are some multisamples use 4 sample osc 1 osc as main osc with tuning and 1 osc as sub osc this is the first osc pair then again for the second oscillator pair have that go into a crossfade mixer then have them go into a switch which can switch betwee...

max/msp can do it but you need the gen also

i can do this with will if he wants i already been working on this a long time in other formats

so i can make up the multisample scannable wavetables

Re: sts sample start time modulation

yes reaktor does do it again the sample needs to have slices the exact size so that when jumping from slice to slice it goes through zero crossing kontakt can do it to as i created a emulation of the sd1 by ensoniq and also did a transwavesynth which is not complete as i have not had time to get the...

Re: sts sample start time modulation

emulator x can do it because they took the idea from ensoniq when they brought them out but you need to have a table that is equal in samples per slice then it moved on loop size at a time the emulator x does not do it as good as the ensoniq hardware its not fast enough you get time delays between j...
