Re: Rainlink

I'm not sure how giving it away equates with being offered as part of Roland Cloud for a regular fee. Currently Roland Cloud is the only software which utilizes Rainlink but there will be more software and hardware which has it from other companies that are not affiliated with Roland just like MIDI.

Re: Rainlink

a MIDI replacement is long overdue, tho there's a bit of a "I want my own walled garden" undertone to all this. Which tends to be at odds with trying to set up a widely adopted standard. They plan to give away Rainlink as they did with MIDI. Ikutaro Kakehashi, the founder of Roland and Da...

Re: Allow me to insist on Arturia greatness!

I guess this is like having a real grand piano and a super sampled Piano. There will always be a big difference, but no one will ever believe me. This is no real problem, as long as you don't own a real grand piano in your house. Don't get crazy by having it not. Just be inspired by the stuff you r...

I was thinking one on each hand and and each foot would be great on stage. For now, I'm going to attach one to my cello bow.

One of the best synths I've ever owned.
While it's Delay is very niche and sounds great, dNa Prime using its little known VCA feature for Ducking is outstanding.
You only have to play with it for a couple of minutes to love it. The delay ruins it. Get an Eventide Space pedal.

Re: Izotope Music Production Bundle 2

There's a sale now if you login to your account and look at your coupons. Now they have so many versions and packs, it's getting confusing. They offered me a coupon for RX 6 which I already own. I would be pissed if I bought that again.

Re: Roland & Studio Electronics new boutique analog synth

Roland knows this, that's why the boutique series was born. Nice idea, no progress just going back and reproduce by copying there self again. This is not true of the SE-02. The knob size is not a problem for me but it's so easy and inexpensive to add as many knobs and/or sliders as you want. I had ...

Re: Pianoteq 6

The stuff just gets getting better and better. I stopped fussing about pianos back in Pianoteq 4. It's not perfect, but it does what I need it to do, and does it very well. Time saved and energy saved. The upgrade to version 6 is only $39 (from any previous version). The previous version is good if...

You need a good weighted keyboard too.

Good review:

He says it sounds better and speculates that the stereo had phase alignment issues. I I always put Pianoteq 5 on mono because it sounded way better that way. This review convinced me to go to version 6 and pro.

Re: I played the MatrixBrute

Just got to try one of these the other day. WOW! :o Awesome huge sound and very user friendly. $2k price tag is steep though compared to what's been coming out lately. Wonder how it stacks up against the SE-02 and the Uli-moog? Although I do realize it wouldn't be an apple to apples comparison beca...

Re: Roland & Studio Electronics new boutique analog synth

The SE-02 USB Audio is not high quality. They shouldn't have bothered to have that. Record it and compare to the live output and you'll see. I don't mind because the price of this unit is very good. The switch knobs are too stiff but I will make a Cubase Expression Map for these. This will allow me ...

Pianoteq 6

Okay I guess this is the time for me to go to the pro version. I've spent so much lately. What do you guys think of it?

I liked the Grotrian demo. My cousin gave me a Grotrian-Steinweg which is currently in transit from San Francisco.

Re: Roland & Studio Electronics new boutique analog synth

PROS : Compact & portable with high-quality sound. Generally well put together with plenty of connectivity and a decent onboard sequencer. Lots of versatile sound shaping. CONS: Controls are too close together, lacks pitch/mod strips and battery power. No amp velocity control over MIDI, filter ...
