Re: It's chrismas ! Dual CPU ?

No JOPO I did not know that it is possible to use two different CPU's on that motherboard - eg - a 4 core and a 12 core - I didn't know this! - Are you sure? - and would they run as well as 2 of the same type?

Re: It's chrismas ! Dual CPU ?

So this is your motherboard - just so I and everyone else knows..... https://www.asus.com/uk/Motherboards/WS-C621E-SAGE/ And these are the supported CPU's - You did mention narrow socket and square socket (two variants)-which confuses matters... this info is from Asus web pages. https://www.asus.com...

Re: It's chrismas ! Dual CPU ?

Well it's just an idea but you could use the dual CPU machine as a VEP slave - totally 100% for VEP, Kontakt and all the other goodies !!! then >>> build a cheaper machine (funds permitting)_with 1 CPU such as Intel 8 core 8 threads - or a 4790 K --- or what ever ---- for your host system with 32 bi...

Re: Z170 build with 7700 K

The one in the picture is AMD FM2+ - Dante was aking how many cores were in the Z170 / H170 build for the 7700 K - With so many CPU's it's difficult to just know how many cores there are. The picture is FM2+ AMD - 7870 K APU (graphics AMD Radeon R7 included) - AMD varaiant of HD Intel ! - It's a 4 c...

Re: Z170 build with 7700 K

Hello, 4 cores 8 threads - MSI Z170 A M3 GAMING - realtek audio / with nahimic (another company) who writes code for an app that links in with Realtek audio - and is NOT compatible with Windows 7 - so I didn't install driver on this - and instead used a basic ish Creative Sound Blaster RX which is v...

Re: Z170 build with 7700 K

What Scope H/W are you running / intend to run on it ? It'll be run on PCI cards and Xite - :) I've got it worked out I think - :) Windows updates caused big problems - an example is control panel / hardware & sound / sound - a navigation problem - with some windows not opening very quickly at ...

Re: Z170 build with 7700 K

Yes, just had another look over the basic install of this system - and without updates - with just the basic drivers installed the system works alot better from the brief use of it navigating around the screens. Not too much of an issue with no IGP / Realtek Audio - (not supported)-maybe earlier ver...

Hello, Happy christmas etc..........now that's out of the way I'd like some feedback on the following build and some problems - some have been overcome. Re: 3rd party plugins S|C

all plugin keys are transferable. Scope keys(v4, v5, v7) are not. the key belongs to the hardware, not the user. that's how Scope was designed. OK, now we're cookin :) - What we're talking about here is the 3rd party plugs-NOT "Scope Fusion Platform"-So is transferable - good! , It would ...

Re: 3rd party plugins S|C

Yes having the codes limited to ONE audio device is not too good - A challenge and response or dongle (iLok/syncrosoft) would be better - but hey better still would be NO protection at all - after all Scope Xite & PCI cards are very NICHE market and there are not a lot in circulation so PIRACY s...

3rd party plugins S|C

Hi, Just looking at some of the 3rd party plugins on S|C website - Such as DNA although there are others. Do the plugins need to be tied to a particular interface such as PCI card or Xite? I figure probably yes = :( - In case of Xite it's not a problem as I only have 1 Xite as long as all the plugs ...

Re: How do I overclock my i7-4790 ?

In my experience, the potential extra 10% CPU power you might get, is not really worth the risk/hastle/instability - Just saying :) Maybe this is correct - But if you wanted to.... Is it the 4790 or the 4790 K -? You would need to get into the BIOS and learn how it works - this may involve another ...

Re: Level matching query

Well Garyb, The Red Box's @ £300 each GBP just to match the level is pricey compared to Ferrofish A16 AE @ £500 for a full 16 I/O - There may be a cheaper alternative - I'll keep looking And Janni, I've already got enough PCI cards for now - though if a 15 DSP board arose with ADAT I'd be tempted an...

Level matching query

Hello Scopers, I'd like to run something passed the tech folks here about signal flow and level matching. I've thought this through but would like to check if this is correct or not. I've got 2 Luna 2 boxes & a Fostex VC-8 - all unbalanced consumer level. Sonifex have the RB-UL4 - direct link fo...
